    Market closes flat, TVS Motor's revenue beats Forecaster estimates by 2% in Q4FY25

    Nifty 50 closed at 24,335.95 (7.5, 0.0%), BSE Sensex closed at 80,288.38 (70.0, 0.1%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 22,112.40 (10.6, 0.1%). Market breadth is in the red. Of the 2,414 stocks traded today, 1,077 showed gains, and 1,289 showed losses.

    Indian indices closed higher after paring gains in the morning session. The Indian volatility index, Nifty VIX, rose 2.5% and closed at 17.4 points. UCO Bank closed 4% higher as its Q4FY25 net profit grew 24.1% YoY to Rs 652.4 crore. Revenue increased 16.5% YoY to Rs 8,136.8 crore owing to improvements in the corporate and retail banking segments.

    Nifty Smallcap 100 and Nifty Midcap 100 closed in the green, following the benchmark index. Nifty IT and BSE Capital Goods were the best-performing indices of the day. According to Trendlyne’s sector dashboard, General Industrials emerged as the best-performing sector of the day, with a rise of 1.8%.

    European indices are trading mixed. Major Asian indices closed in the green, except China’s FTSE China 50, which closed flat and Malaysia’s KLCI index, which closed 0.4% lower. US index futures are trading higher, indicating a positive start to the session after President Donald Trump is reportedly planning to ease tariffs on automakers.

    • Relative strength index (RSI) indicates that stocks like Max Financial Services, MRF, SBI Life Insurance and AU Small Finance Bank are in the overbought zone.

    • TVS Motor's revenue rises 17.5% YoY to Rs 9,564.9 crore in Q4FY25, driven by improvements in the automobiles, vehicles & parts and financial services segments.     Nifty 50 closed at 24,039.35 (-207.4, -0.9%), BSE Sensex closed at 79,212.53 (-588.9, -0.7%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 21,848.15 (-332.5, -1.5%). Market breadth is highly negative. Of the 2,433 stocks traded today, 320 were on the uptrend, and 2,092 went down.

    Indian indices closed in the red, weighed down by declining hotel, port infrastructure, and aviation stocks amid rising India-Pakistan tensions. The Indian volatility index, Nifty VIX, rose 5.6% and closed at 17.2 points. LIC Housing Finance announced a 25 bps reduction in its housing prime lending rate (HPLR) to 8%, effective April 28.

    Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 closed in the red, following the benchmark index. Nifty High Beta 50 & Nifty Media were among the top index losers today.     Indian indices closed lower after falling throughout the day. The Indian volatility index, Nifty VIX, rose 1.8% and closed at 16.3 points. Dalmia Bharat closed 4.5% higher as its net profit grew 38.1% YoY to Rs 435 crore in Q4FY25, led by lower power & fuel and freight expenses.

    Nifty 50 closed at 24,328.95 (161.7, 0.7%), BSE Sensex closed at 80,116.49 (520.9, 0.7%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 22,237.60 (152.5, 0.7%). Market breadth is neutral. Of the 2,431 stocks traded today, 1,210 were in the positive territory and 1,186 were negative.

    Indian indices closed higher after erasing losses in the afternoon session. The Indian volatility index, Nifty VIX, surge 4.8% and closed at 16 points. HCL Technologies closed 7.7% higher as its Q4FY25 revenue grew 1.1% QoQ to Rs 30,695 crore, helped by improvements in the IT & business services and engineering & R&D services segments.

    Nifty Smallcap 100 and Nifty Midcap 100 closed in the green, following the benchmark index. Nifty IT and BSE Auto were the best-performing indices of the day. According to Trendlyne’s sector dashboard, Software & Services emerged as the best-performing sector of the day, with a rise of 3.6%.

    European indices are trading higher, except for Russia’s RTSI and MOEX indices, which are down 1% each. Major Asian indices closed in the green.     Nifty 50 closed at 24,125.55 (273.9, 1.2%), BSE Sensex closed at 79,408.50 (855.3, 1.1%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 22,005.75 (324.2, 1.5%). Market breadth is surging up. Of the 2,478 stocks traded today, 1,876 were in the positive territory and 553 were negative.

    Indian indices closed in the green, supported by positive Q4 results from HDFC and ICICI Bank. The Indian volatility index, Nifty VIX, declined 0.1% and closed at 15.5 points. Infosys rose by 2.2% as its Q4FY25 net profit rose 3.3% QoQ to Rs 7,033 crore, helped by lower cost of sales and administrative expenses.

    Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 closed in the green, following the benchmark index. Nifty Midcap Liquid 15 & Nifty High Beta 50 were among the top index gainers today. According to Trendlyne’s Sector dashboard, Diversified sector emerged as the best-performing sector of the day, with a rise of 2.8%.

    Asian indices closed higher, while European indices are trading lower except Russia’s MOEX & RTSI indices. US index futures traded in the red, indicating a cautious start to the trading session. The IMF and World Bank Spring meetings will kick off in Washington this week, with Trump’s tariff policy expected to dominate discussions. Meanwhile, Trump escalated criticism of the Federal Reserve for not cutting interest rates last week. He threatened to remove the Fed chairman, who affirmed he has no intention of stepping down and emphasized the Fed’s independence over monetary policy to be a “matter of law.”

    • Money flow index (MFI) indicates that stocks like HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Avenue Supermarts, and Ambuja Cements are in the overbought zone.

    Market closes higher, Yes Bank receives a Rs 244.2 crore tax demand for AY16-17

    Nifty 50 closed at 23,437.20 (108.7, 0.5%) , BSE Sensex closed at 77,044.29 (309.4, 0.4%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 21,404.35 (125.0, 0.6%). Market breadth is surging up. Of the 2,441 stocks traded today, 1,682 were in the positive territory and 718 were negative.

    Indian indices closed higher after erasing losses in the afternoon session. The Indian volatility index, Nifty VIX, declined 1.6% and closed at 15.9 points. IREDA closed 5.7% higher as its Q4FY25 revenue grew 37.5% YoY to Rs 1,914.7 crore, while net profit surged 48.7% to Rs 501.6 crore. The company’s net NPA improved to 1.3% in FY25 from 1.5% in FY24.

    Nifty Smallcap 100 and Nifty Midcap 100 closed in the green, following the benchmark index. Nifty Media and Nifty PSU Bank were the best-performing indices of the day. According to Trendlyne’s sector dashboard, Telecommunication Equipment emerged as the best-performing sector of the day, with a rise of 2.4%.

    European indices are trading lower, except Russia’s RTSI and MOEX indices, which are trading 0.8% higher each. Major Asian indices closed in the red, except Sri Lanka’s CSE All Share and Thailand’s SET indices, which closed 1.2% and 0.9% higher. US index futures are trading in the red, indicating a cautious start to the session following the US Commerce Department’s decision to impose restrictions on exports of AI chips to China.

    • Relative strength index (RSI) indicates that stocks like Tata Consumer Products, Pidilite Industries, Britannia Industries, and Solar Industries are in the overbought zone.

    • Optiemus Infracom rises as its subsidiary, Optiemus Electronics, partners with Realme to manufacture next-generation Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) products in India, targeting 5 million units annually.

    • KFIN Technologies is rising as it incorporates a wholly-owned subsidiary in Singapore to acquire a 51% stake in Ascent Fund Services (Singapore) for $34.7 million (approximately Rs 296.9 crore). The company plans to acquire the remaining 49% stake by 2030.

    • Poly Medicure rises sharply as the US imposes up to 245% tariffs on Chinese medical equipment imports. The company generates 70% of its revenue from the export market.

    • Lupin and Zydus Lifesciences fall sharply after losing a US Federal Court patent case on Myrbetriq, a medicine to treat overactive bladder, to Astellas Pharma. Both companies generate quarterly sales of between $30-35 million from Myrbetriq in the US market.

    • Yes Bank receives a Rs 244.2 crore additional tax demand following a reassessment rectification order passed by the Jurisdictional Assessing Officer (JAO) for the Assessment Year (AY) 2016–17.

    • Hindustan Oil Exploration Company rises as it secures a block under the 2024 small fields bid round. The Mumbai offshore block spans 332.4 sq km, taking the company's total acreage to over 800 sq km.

    • Mahanagar Gas is falling as its allocation of Administrative Price Mechanism (APM) natural gas for domestic PNG and CNG (transport) segments reduces by 18%, effective April 16. The shortfall will be replaced with New Well/Well Intervention Gas (NWG).

    • IREDA rises sharply as its Q4FY25 revenue grows 37.5% YoY to Rs 1,914.7 crore, while net profit surges 48.7% to Rs 501.6 crore. The company’s net NPA improves to 1.3% in FY25 from 1.5% in FY24.

    • Oil India is rising as it secures nine blocks under the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) Round IX, adding over 51,000 sq. km to its exploration portfolio. With this addition, the company’s total exploration acreage increases from 60,000 sq km to 1,10,000 sq km, an 85% growth.

    • ICICI Lombard General Insurance is falling as its net profit drops 1.9% YoY to Rs 509.6 crore in Q4FY25, driven by higher commissions and brokerage expenses.     Nifty 50 closed at 23,328.55 (500, 2.2%), BSE Sensex closed at 76,734.89 (1,577.6, 2.1%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 21,279.40 (526.6, 2.5%). Market breadth is ticking up strongly. Of the 2,466 stocks traded today, 2,142 were in the positive territory and 286 were negative.

    Indian indices closed in the green, driven by Trump’s tariff pause and easing wholesale inflation. The Indian volatility index, Nifty VIX, fell 19.8% and closed at 16.1 points. Companies like Tata Motors, Samvardhana Motherson, and Sona BLW closed sharply higher after US President Trump hinted at tariff exemptions for imported vehicles and auto parts.

    Nifty Smallcap 100 and Nifty Midcap 100 closed in the green, following the benchmark index. Nifty Metal and Nifty Realty closed higher. According to Trendlyne’s sector dashboard, Fertilizers emerged as the best-performing sector of the day, with a rise of 6.5%.

    European indices are trading mixed. Major Asian indices closed in the green. US index futures are trading mixed, indicating a cautious start to the session. The Trump administration said it is launching probes into pharma and semiconductor imports to assess whether to impose tariffs on these sectors. Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson, Bank of America, Citigroup, PNC Financial, and United Airlines are set to report their earnings later today.

    • Money flow index (MFI) indicates that stocks like Britannia Industries, Tata Consumer Products, Marico, and Aster DM Healthcare are in the overbought zone.

    • Adani Group stocks rise amid reports that the Trump administration is stepping back from certain white-collar enforcement cases.
