    • Bharat Forge is falling as CLSA India downgrades the stock to ‘Sell’ from ‘Buy’ and cuts the target price by 23.3% to Rs 690. The brokerage anticipates a slowdown in export growth. The company depends on exports of its components to Class 8 trucks to the US and semiconductor shortages are impacting orders of Class 8 trucks.

    • HDFC Securities maintains a 'BUY' rating on BSE and its subsidiary CDSL. It expects BSE's profit to grow by 116% YoY led by strong traction in its cash and mutual funds segment. It further expects CDSL's profits to grow by 71% YoY led by its transaction and corporate actions segment.

    • Easy Trip Planners's board of directors approves the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1, subject to the approval from shareholders.

    • Tata Teleservices Maharashtra's board opts for DoT’s telecom relief package of conversion of interest on adjusted gross revenue dues into equity. The net present value of the interest due amounts to Rs 850 crore. After conversion, the Indian government will hold a 9.5% stake in the company. This is subject to a mutual agreement on terms and conditions.

    • KBC Asset Management sells 32.55 lakh shares or 0.53% stake of NCC at a price of Rs 73.52 in a bulk deal on Monday. This deal effectively reduces its stake in the company to 2.47% from 3%.

    • Vodafone Idea’s board avails the option of telecom relief package by DoT and approves conversion of the full amount of interest, related to spectrum auction installments, and Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues into equity. The Net Present Value (NPV) of the interest on spectrum auction and AGR is expected to be about Rs 16,000 crore. After conversion the Indian government will hold a 35.8% stake, the promoter shareholders of Vodafone Group will hold around 25.8%, and Aditya Birla Group around 17.8%.

    • Mahanagar Gas increases the prices of compressed natural gas by Rs 2.50 per kg and piped natural gas by Rs 1.50 per standard cubic metre for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with effect from January 8, 2022 midnight. This is the second price hike after the on company also hiked gas prices back in December 2021.

    • Avenue Supermarts (D-Mart) ' Q3FY22 net profits rise 22.6% YoY to Rs 552.5 crore, led by a 22% YoY increase in revenues to Rs 9,065 crore. Weak recovery in fashion and general merchandise segments weigh on its sales growth as well as gross margins

    • Railtel Corporation of India approves interim dividend at the rate of 17.5% of paid-up share capital and Rs 1.75 per share for FY22. The record date is January 21, 2022.

    • Tata Steel's consolidated steel output for Q3FY22 rises 2% YoY rise to 7.68 million tonnes. Domestic Production rises 4% YoY to 4.80 million tonnes. However, the sales volume for the quarter fell by 3% YoY to 6.88 million tonnes

    • Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's gross advances rises 22% YoY to Rs 16,600 crore while total deposits grows 34% YoY to Rs 15,600. The bank's collection efficiency rises 97% while loan disbursement for the quarter grows 120% YoY to Rs 4,800 crore.

    • SJVN rises after its Q3FY22 electricity generation increase to record levels of 1,480 million units, up 10% YoY from Q3FY20 levels. The management attributed this increase to higher machine performance and optimum resource utilization.

    • Macrotech Developers rises after its sales booking see a 40% YoY jump to Rs 2,608 crore for Q3FY22, backed a strong festive season in October and November 2021. Its collections also improve by 44% YoY to Rs 2,127 crore in Q3.

    • Reliance Industries’ retail arm Reliance Retail to invest $200 million in hyper local delivery service Dunzo to buy a 25.8% stake in the company. This is part of a $240 million fundraising by Dunzo. The funds will be used to enable hyper local logistics for Reliance Retail’s stores and for quick delivery of groceries and other essential items.

    • Titan clocks a 36% YoY growth across its consumer businesses, driven by strong demand over the festive season. Net stores added in Q3FY22 were 89, taking the total count of stores at the end of December 2021 to 1,935. Revenues from jewellery business rises 37% YoY as festive purchases increased in October 2021 and November 2021.

    Nifty 50 closed at 17,203.95 (-9.7, -0.1%) , BSE Sensex closed at 57,794.32 (-12.2, -0.0%) while the broader Nifty 500closed at 14,842.05 (-21.4, -0.1%)

    Market breadth is in the red. Of the 1,842 stocks traded today, 823 were on the uptick, and 993 were down.

    • IRB Infrastructure Developers, Blue Dart Express, Crisil, and Godrej Properties are trading with higher volumes as compared to Wednesday.

    • ICRA expects the Indian GDP to clock growth of 9% in both FY22 and FY23 backed by rise in percentage of fully vaccinated adult population to 85-90% by March 2022 and a K-shaped recovery. However, spread of the new Covid variant, Omicron, is a key monitorable here.

    • IRB Infrastructure Developers rises as it completes equity fundraising of Rs 5,347 crore from Cintra INR Investments and Bricklayers Investments. Cintra now holds 24.9% stake while Bricklayers holds 16.9% stake in the company.

    • Edelweiss maintains a 'Buy' rating on Tech Mahindra, with a target price upside of 14%. The brokerage is bullish on the company's prospects as its posted a 53% YoY growth in its deal wins over the past nine months. This could translate to an 18% EPS growth over the next year. Robust 5G deal momentum to boost the revenue growth of communications, media and entertainment segment.

    • Nifty IT is trading higher with stocks like Tech Mahindra, Coforge, HCL Technologies, Wipro, L&T Technology Services among others rising in trade.

    • Kalpataru Power Transmissions is trading with more than 14 times its weekly average trading volumes. The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore, Orient Electric, Graphite India, and HEG are trading with more than five times their weekly average trading volumes.

    • Delta Corp is falling as Goa government imposes fresh restrictions on occupancy to 50% due to rising Covid-19 infections

    • SJVN rises on its plans to invest Rs 60,000 crore in five hydropower projects of 5,097 MW to be set up in the Dibang basin of Arunachal Pradesh. The projects will be completed over the next 8-10 years

    • Promoter group entity Dilesh Roadlines sells two lakh shares or 0.74% stake in Valiant Organics in an insider trade and decreases its holding in the company to 1.60% from 2.34%.

    • Kalpataru Power is rising as the company and its subsidiary secure orders worth Rs 1,560 crore in India, Africa, South America and CIS countries that include Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, among others. These orders also include an order for power transmission projects in Europe.

    • Life Insurance Corporation of India acquires 4.38 crore shares or 2.01% stake in Bharat Petroleum Corporation in an insider trade and increases its holding in the company to 7.03% from 5.02%
