Markets closed higher today - Nifty 50 closed at 11299.90 (65.4, 0.6%) , BSE Sensex closed at 38127.08 (246.7, 0.7%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 9157.15 (44.4, 0.5%)
Market breadth is horizontal. Of the 1651 stocks traded today, 747 were in the positive territory and 807 were negative. Markets were volatile much of the day, with investors watching political developments closely - hopes of a US-China trade deal has driven markets up, but any jitteriness there can hurt optimism. The attack on the Iran oil tanker also drove oil prices up, and the impact of that on tensions in the Middle East will be closely watched.
