Asian markets closed mixed. European markets and US index futures traded with varied trends. Investors await Wednesday’s US CPI data for July, which could shape expectations for the Fed’s September policy meeting. Meanwhile, Nvidia partnered with six financial institutions to raise over $500 billion for AI infrastructure. Brent crude oil futures traded higher as hopes of a US-Iran deal weakened after Trump sought compensation from Iran as part of any peace agreement.

India’s US crude oil imports are set to fall to their lowest level since December 2024, despite Washington’s push to curb reliance on Russian oil. Kpler analyst Sumit Ritolia notes US imports peaked at around 565,000 bpd in October 2025 before declining steadily. Russian crude remains attractive to Indian refiners due to its competitive pricing, availability and suitability for several large refineries.
