Markets close lower, new 52-week high for Apollo Hospitals and Syngene

Markets fell in today's trading. Nifty 50 closed at 10821.35 (-310.5, -2.8%) , BSE Sensex closed at 36554.12 (-1114.3, -3.0%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 8955.20 (-239.2, -2.6%)

Market breadth is sharply down. Of the 1672 stocks traded today, 236 were gainers and 1376 were losers.
