Market closes higher, Tata Motors' September wholesales up by 26% YoY

Markets closed up today. Nifty 50 closed at 17,691.25 (159.2, 0.9%) , BSE Sensex closed at 59,299.32 (533.7, 0.9%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 15,181.15 (167.2, 1.1%)

Market breadth is ticking up strongly. Of the 1810 stocks traded today, 1303 were in the positive territory and 440 were negative.

  • Tanla Platforms, TTK Prestige, Kajaria Ceramics, and Just Dial are trading with higher delivery volumes compared to Friday.

  • Edelweiss maintains a 'Buy' rating on Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail with a target price at an 11% upside due to the company's 2X growth in the Madura segment and Pantaloons' 3X growth in online sales in Q2FY22.

  • Divi’s Laboratories is trading higher as Merck reports positive clinical trial results for Molnupiravir, a drug to be used to treat Covid-19 patients. Divi's Labs is the authorised manufacturer of APIs for the drug

  • Axis Securities maintains a 'Buy' rating on Persistent Systems with a target price at a 10% upside following the company's acquisition of Software Corporation International and Fusion360 last week.

  • 3M India is trading with more than seven times its weekly average trading volume. Capri Global Capital, DCM Shriram, and V-Guard Industries are trading with more than four times their weekly average trading volume.

  • Tata Motors' total wholesales in September 2021 rise 26% YoY to 55,988 units. The medium & heavy commercial vehicle (CV) wholesales are up by 88% YoY to 8,609 units and light CV wholesales rise by 68% YoY to 5,600 units in the month.

  • Eicher Motors' Royal Enfield exports in September 2021 increases by 52% YoY to 6,296 units while domestic wholesales decline by 51% to 27,233 units. Total wholesales in the month was 33,529 units, a 44% decline.

  • Tech Mahindra's wholly owned German subsidiary will acquire a 100% stake in Beris Consulting, an IT software development company, for Rs 60 crore.

  • Aurobindo Pharma's Managing Director N Govindarajan submits his resignation citing personal reasons. He will step down from his position at the end of the year.

  • Reports suggest that NTPC is planning to raise Rs 15,000 crore by listing three subsidiaries (NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation, and NTPC-Renewable Energy) by March 2024.

  • Hero MotoCorp's total wholesales in September 2021 falls 26% YoY to 5.3 lakh units. Domestic wholesales declines by 27.5% to 5 lakh units while exports increase by 35% to 24,884 units.

  • CSB Bank reports a 3% fall in gold loans in Q2FY22 with total loans of Rs 5,441 crore. However, on a YoY basis gold loans are up by 10.2% and gross advances stood at Rs 14,060 crore in Q2FY22.

  • Nalanda Equity Fund sells 5.9 lakh shares of Just Dial in a bulk deal worth Rs 59 crore on Friday. Over the past week, the fund has sold 21.3 lakh shares in the company.

  • Yes Bank's total deposits in Q2FY22 grow by 30% YoY to Rs 1.76 lakh crore, with loans and advances up by 3.6% to Rs 1.72 lakh crore.

  • Markets rise on early trading, Nifty 50 was trading at 17619.95 (87.9, 0.5%) , BSE Sensex was trading at 59213.24 (447.7, 0.8%) while the broader Nifty 500 was trading at 15093.70 (79.8, 0.5%)
