Two experimental coronavirus vaccines jointly developed by German biotech firm BioNTech and US pharma company Pfizer have been fastracked by the FDA for late stage human trials in the US. If the trials are successful, the companies say that they expect to make up to 100 million doses by the end of this year.

Biocon is up today after the company said that it has received approval from the Drugs Controller General of India to market its biologic drug Itolizumab for patients with Covid-19 complications. Complications tend to impact a small percentage of Covid-19 patients; however these usually require highly aggressive treatments including the use of breathing support.
