LIVE: Amansa Holdings buys PVR, Pfizer Covid vaccine gets fastracked by FDA

Two experimental coronavirus vaccines jointly developed by German biotech firm BioNTech and US pharma company Pfizer have been fastracked by the FDA for late stage human trials in the US. If the trials are successful, the companies say that they expect to make up to 100 million doses by the end of this year.
Markets closed higher, although the indices shed early morning gains in the afternoon. Nifty 50 closed at 10802.70 (34.7, 0.3%) , BSE Sensex closed at 36693.69 (99.4, 0.3%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 8834.20 (20.3, 0.2%). Market breadth is in the red. Of the 1687 stocks traded today, 613 were on the uptick, and 1021 were down.
Rain Industries jumped back to among the top gainers today, with pharma company Caplin Point and testing firm Thyrocare also in the mix.
Biocon is up today after the company said that it has received approval from the Drugs Controller General of India to market its biologic drug Itolizumab for patients with Covid-19 complications. Complications tend to impact a small percentage of Covid-19 patients; however these usually require highly aggressive treatments including the use of breathing support.
Reliance Industries has hit yet another high today after four more investors bought stakes in Jio Platforms, raising a total of over Rs 30,062 crore.
Poly Medicure, L&T Infotech among stocks hitting new 52 week highs today.
Infosys is rising today, ahead of results due July 15.
Markets opened higher. Nifty 50 was trading at 10876.40 (108.4, 1.0%) , BSE Sensex was trading at 36990.04 (395.7, 1.1%) while the broader Nifty 500 was trading at 8889.15 (75.2, 0.9%). Market breadth is surging up. Of the 1538 stocks traded today, 1006 showed gains, and 452 showed losses.
