Galaxy Surfactants (GALSURF) delivered a weak quarter, with EBITDA declining 13% YoY. EBITDA/kg stood at ~INR17, down 11% YoY in 2QFY26, primarily due to global tariff headwinds, reformulation within the performance segment, and lower domestic volumes following GST-driven inventory adjustments.

Galaxy Surfactants (GALSURF) reported an EBITDA/kg of INR18.4 (est. INR19.3), down 5% YoY, while total volumes increased ~5% YoY to 67.3tmt (vs. est 64.4tmt), supported by robust growth in the RoW region (up 16% YoY) driven by LATAM and APAC.

In the last three years, Galaxy Surfactants (Galaxy) has grappled with a variety of challenges, yet delivered consistent earnings thanks to its robust business model and diversified portfolio. After a strong FY24E (+9.2%), we envisage Galaxy’s volumes slowing as India growth moderates while AMET improves.

Valuation and rating: We assign a PE multiple of 32x (premium to other chemical companies as discussed above) on Sept'23 earnings of Rs110 post which we arrive at a target of Rs.3,520, an upside of 15% from the current levels.
