Airtel-Nokia partnership to help developers create new revenue streams

Finnish telecom company Nokia has partnered with Bharti Airtel to make network capabilities available to third-party developers for building new technology solutions and open up new monetization opportunities. Following successful trials, Airtel's network APIs (Application Programming Interface) will be available on a subscription basis to an established ecosystem of developers, system integrators and enterprises using Nokia's Network as Code platform, Nokia said in a statement. Bharti Airtel promoter entity ICIL sells 3.43 cr shares for 7,189 cr

ICIL, a company belonging to telecom czar Sunil Bharti Mittal's family office, on Wednesday sold 3.43 crore equity shares, or 0.56 per cent stake, in Bharti Airtel for about Rs 7,190 crore (USD 806 million). After the share sale, Bharti Airtel's scrip fell 3 per cent to Rs 2,097.50 apiece on the NSE while it dipped by 2.81 per cent to Rs 2,100 per share on the BSE. The Indian Continent Investment Ltd (ICIL) is one of the promoter entities in city-based Bharti Airtel. Under the transaction, the share sale comprises up to 34.3 million (3.43 crore) shares, representing 0.56 per cent of the outstanding share capital by the selling shareholder. The shares were offloaded at a floor price of Rs 2,096.70 per share, a 3 per cent discount to Bharti Airtel's closing price of Rs 2,161.60 apiece on the NSE on Tuesday, according to a term sheet seen by PTI. The combined market valuation of seven of the top-10 most valued firms surged by Rs 1,28,281.52 crore last week, with Reliance Industries and Bharti Airtel emerging as the biggest gainers, in line with a positive trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark jumped 669.14 points or 0.79 per cent. S&P raises Airtel ratings on earnings momentum; says outlook positive

S&P Global Ratings has raised Bharti Airtel's ratings to 'BBB' on expectations that the telco's earnings growth will remain robust over the next 24 months fuelled by Indian operations, subscriber adds and user revenue lift. The outlook for the Indian operations stems from expectations of 2 per cent to 4 per cent of annual subscriber additions and average revenue per user (ARPU) growth of 6 per cent to 8 per cent in the same period, a fall out of upgrades to higher-priced plans and higher data consumption. S&P Global Ratings has raised its long-term issuer credit ratings on Bharti Airtel to 'BBB' from 'BBB-'. Airtel brings mobile connectivity to Man and Merak near Pangong Lake

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel has expanded its network footprint to Man and Merak -- two of the remotest villages on the Eastern Border of Ladakh -- near the world-famous Pangong Lake, the company said on Monday. Airtel Payments Bank Q2FY26 results: Net profit rises to 11.8 crore

Airtel Payments Bank has posted a profit of Rs 11.8 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2025, marginally higher than a year ago, and said its quarterly revenue breached the Rs 800 crore mark for the first time. The Q2FY26 revenue of Rs 804 crore, up 19.4 per cent year-on-year, "marks strong growth momentum", it said in a release. The bank's profit for the quarter rose to Rs 11.8 crore against Rs 11.2 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. "For the first time, the bank's quarterly revenue breached the Rs 800 crore," according to a release. The annualised Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) reached Rs 4,56,000 crore, reflecting the growing adoption of the Bank's Safe Second Account, merchant propositions, and other product offerings, the release said, pointing out that it remains the third-largest mobile bank in India by user base.
