LIVE: Markets jump on corporate tax cut, Brickwork downgrades Reliance Home
Markets are trading high. Nifty 50 was trading at 11245.05 (540.3, 5.1%) , BSE Sensex was trading at 37909.17 (1815.7, 5.0%) while the broader Nifty 500 was trading at 9193.25 (4.87%). Market breadth is surging up. Of the 1639 stocks traded today, 1279 showed gains, and 275 showed losses.


Around 1.1 crore shares of Coal India changed hands today. Share price of the stock is up.
Brickwork Rating downgrades Reliance Home Finance's long-term commercial paper, NCDs and short-term debt to D owing to non-repayment. 
Auto and banking stocks gain in double digit percentages on tax relief.

The Sensex is up 4.98%, and the Nifty50 is up 4.19% as of noon after the government announcement of corporate tax cuts. 
The Central government has slashed effective corporate tax to 25.17 percent, inclusive of all cess and surcharges for domestic companies. Making the announcement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the new tax rate will be applicable from the current fiscal which began on April 1. Companies not availing exemptions will also not be required to pay minimum alternative tax (MAT).
