We met the management of Vadilal Industries (VIL) to get an insight into the company's business and growth prospects. VIL operates in two major segments ice cream, under brand name Vadilal and processed food, under brand name Quick Treat. Ice-cream brand Vadilal has a legacy of 109 years and is the second largest ice cream manufacturer in India. Vadilal has doubled its production capacities from 175000 litres per day (lpd) to 350,000 lpd. It can produce to the tune of 8 lakh cones and 15 lakh cups per day. The company has invested Rs.1750 Mn in the last three years expanding production facilities and in technologies which have lead to automated manufacturing of ice cream and improved manufacturing efficiency.
