Following the heavy selling in the equity markets, the market value of BSE-listed firms retreated to Rs 245 lakh crore on June 28, 2022 from Rs 266 lakh crore on December 31 last year.
All the sectoral indices traded in the green with capital goods, IT indices gaining 2 percent each. The BSE Midcap index added 0.8 percent while smallcap index rose 1.5 percent.
This week, the broader indices underperformed the main indices with BSE Small-cap index adding 1.6 percent, Mid-cap and Large-cap indices rising over 2 percent each
According to block deal data available with the BSE, Sanjay Chamria and Mayank Poddar sold 27,06,350 shares each at an average price of Rs 222 apiece, taking the transaction size to Rs 120.16 crore.
The BSE Smallcap index declined 6.6 percent, while the Midcap and and Largecap indices shed over 5 percent each. All sectoral indices ended in the red, with BSE metal and oil and gas losing more than 9 percent each and the BSE Information Technology index down 8 percent
Among sectors, auto, metal and oil gas ended in the red, while capital goods, power and realty indices ended higher. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices ended marginally lower.
