Yes Bank saw sluggish loan growth in Q4FY21. The beleaguered bank's advances grew by less than 1% YoY in Q4FY21, while HDFC Bank's loans grew by 14% in the quarter. Despite Yes Bank's deposits growing by more than 50% YoY, its loan to deposits ratio is over 1.
The loan to deposit ratio measures a bank's liquidity position. A high loan to deposit ratio (>1) indicates that a bank has given out more loans than it has received deposits. This means that the bank might not have enough liquidity to cover deposits.
