HT Media Q4 results: Profit rises to Rs 51.36 cr, revenue at Rs 513.57 cr

HT Media Ltd on Tuesday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 51.36 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31. The company had posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 31 lakh in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, HT Media Ltd said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from the operations in the fourth quarter stood at Rs 513.57 crore as compared to Rs 464.41 crore in the same period a year ago, it added. Total expenses in the quarter under review stood at Rs 527.47 crore, as compared to Rs 513.41 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. Printing and publishing of newspapers and periodicals segment clocked revenue of Rs 373.29 crore in the fourth quarter as against Rs 375.97 crore in the year-ago period, while radio broadcast and entertainment clocked Rs 81.98 crore as compared to Rs 47.57 crore in the corresponding period previous fiscal. HT Media Q2 results: Loss narrows down to Rs 6.33 cr, revenue up 7.55%

HT Media Ltd on Tuesday reported a narrowing down of its consolidated net loss to Rs 6.33 crore for the September quarter. The company had posted a net loss of Rs 56.95 crore in the year-ago period, according to a regulatory filing from HT Media. Its revenue from operations was up 7.55 per cent to Rs 423.75 crore in the September quarter from Rs 393.99 crore in the corresponding period last year. HT Media's total expenses in the September quarter were up 2.44 per cent to Rs 488.67 crore. Its total income, which includes other income, in the September quarter, was at Rs 479.28 crore, up 12.24 per cent. Govt pushes for HT-BT cotton to counter increasing demand to use glyphosate

The government is deliberating complex policy decisions regarding Herbicide-tolerant BT (HTBT) cotton and the use of herbicide 'glyphosate' as industry demands intensify, Agriculture Commissioner P K Singh said on Friday. The key issue revolves around permitting widespread glyphosate application in cotton farming, even as discussions are underway about officially introducing HTBT cotton varieties in the country. "On one hand, the industry is demanding the use of glyphosate in cotton. Then how to go for that?" Singh said addressing a brainstorming session on emerging challenges and management strategies for weed management in India.
