Edelweiss raising funds through short-term issue: Edelweiss has proposed a short-term debt issue that will bring in Rs. 63.5 billion for the company, and has received a CRISIL A1+ rating for this issue (on the CRISIL scale, this is the highest rating by the agency).
The company has been raising funds for its various business through debt issues. Rumors that Edelweiss might be considering an IPO for its consumer lending unit ECL Finance, have been denied by the company.
