The Company has seen a loss in volume in June due to the Biparjoy cyclone. Cost pressures continued during this quarter as the lower fuel price benefit will flow in subsequent quarters. The board has also approved a plan to increase the cement capacity of the company to 3 million tons per annum at a capex of approximately Rs 250 crore. We had a scheduled plant shut down, cost of fuel and transportation went up considerably and low demand put pressure on prices resulting in a disappointing quarterly performance. Storm seems to be subsiding now-fuel prices are stabilising and demand is picking up. We expect the normalcy to return soon and look for a good Q4”.
