Responding to queries from the exchanges, Reliance Defence and Engineering - which had been rumored as one among three potential investors for debt-laden ABG Shipyard - said that it was not exploring a deal with ABG, and that it "denies it has any interest whatsoever" in buying the company.
News media had reported yesterday that Reliance Defence, Shapoorji Pallonji Group and the UK's Liberty House Group had shown interest in investing into the company. The news had driven ABG's stock up by more than 7% in trading.
