Gems, jewellery exports fall 10.29% to $1.97 billion in Dec: GJEPC

The overall gems and jewellery exports declined 10.29 per cent year-on-year to USD 1,967.98 million (Rs 16,719.460 crore) due to geopolitical tensions and a slowdown in demand in China, GJEPC said on Friday. Gems and jewellery exports stood at USD 2,193.82 million (Rs 18,269.7 crore) in December 2023, according to data from industry apex body Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). "The geopolitical tensions continue to affect the overall demand. The slowdown in demand in key export destinations, including China, has also impacted the shipments," GJEPC chairman Vipul Shah told PTI. The overall export of Cut and Polished diamonds (CPD) declined 10.36 per cent to USD 773.1 million (Rs 6,569.7 crores) in December compared to USD 862.48 million (Rs 7,182.53 crores) in the same period of 2023. Film producer Vipul Shah's Sunshine Pictures files for IPO to raise funds

Film and television producer-director Vipul Shah-backed Sunshine Pictures Ltd has filed draft papers with the market regulator Sebi to raise funds through an initial public offering (IPO). The IPO comprises a total offer size of 83.75 lakh equity shares including a fresh issue of 50 lakh shares and an Offer-for-Sale (OFS) of 33.75 lakh shares by promoters, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). Promoter Vipul Amrutlal Shah is proposing to sell 23.69 lakh shares, while Shefali Vipul Shah plans to offload 10.05 lakh shares. The company plans to utilize the proceeds from the fresh issue to meet its long-term working capital requirements, allocating up to Rs 94 crore to support future growth and operations, along with other general corporate purposes. Additionally, the listing of its equity shares on the stock exchanges is expected to enhance the company's visibility, strengthen its brand image, and create a public market for its shares in India. Gem Aromatics files draft papers with Sebi to mobilise funds via IPO

Mumbai-based Gem Aromatics, a manufacturer of specialty ingredients, has filled its draft papers with Sebi to raise funds through an initial public offer. The initial public offering (IPO) is a mix of fresh issue of equity shares worth up to Rs 175 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 89.24 lakh shares each by the promoter and an investor, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) filed on December 28. Among promoters, Vipul Parekh will offload 33.96 lakh equity shares, Kaksha Vipul Parekh up to 16.26 lakh shares and Yash Vipul Parekh will sell up to 16.70 lakh shares. Investor doTERRA Enterprises, Srl will divest up to 22.31 lakh equity shares in the company through the OFS. The company may consider a pre-IPO placement aggregating up to Rs 35 crore. CM Saini, other newly elected Haryana MLAs administered oath today

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and other newly-elected MLAs were on Friday administered oath as members of the 15th state assembly here. Protem Speaker and senior Congress leader Raghuvir Singh Kadian administered oath to the newly elected MLAs. Saini, who was sworn-in as the Haryana chief minister on October 17 in Panchkula, was the first one to be administered oath by the Protem Speaker.
