SJVN Q2FY25 results: Net profit marginally increases to Rs 439.9 cr

State-owned SJVN on Tuesday said its consolidated net profit during the September quarter remained flat at Rs 439.90 crore. It had posted Rs 439.64 crore profit for the period ended September 2023, the company said in an exchange filing. The company's total income rose to Rs 1,108.43 crore from Rs 951.62 crore a year ago. Its expenses shot up to Rs 528.88 crore from Rs 398.22 crore in the year-ago period. Shimla-based SJVN is into hydro power projects.

PWD, SJVNL sign MoU worth Rs 70 cr for road widening projects in Himachal

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth around Rs 70 crore has been signed between the state Public Works Department (PWD) and SJVN Ltd for the widening of various road projects in Himachal Pradesh on Monday. Presiding over the MoU signing ceremony here, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that the MoU had been signed for the widening of Sunni-Luhri road, Gharat Nala-Khaira road, Shimla-Mandi road and Dhali-Devidhar road. In a statement issued here, he said that this MoU was a historic step towards improving the road infrastructure in both rural and urban areas of the state. He said that during his recent visit to Delhi, he had urged the Central government to declare five important roads including the Salapad-Tattapani-Sunni-Khaira-Luhri road, as national highways. SJVN generates 8,489 MU of power as green energy in FY24: CMD Sharma

State-owned SJVN generated 8,489 million units (MUs) of green energy from its operational hydro, solar and wind power stations in 2023-24, a top company official said. SJVN CMD Sushil Sharma made the remarks at the company's 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 2023-24 financial year. "Despite facing challenging hydrological conditions due to climate change, SJVN demonstrated resilience in its operations. In FY24, the company generated 8,489 MUs from its operational hydro, solar and wind power stations," a company statement quoted Sharma as saying. The power stations set new records, including highest-ever daily generation of 39.570 million units (MU) and 10.971 MU by 1,500 MW NJHPS (Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station) and 412 MW Rampur HPS, respectively, in July 2023. The highest-ever monthly generation of 1,590.072 MU was recorded from all operational projects in August 2023 and Rampur HPS also achieved the highest-ever monthly generation of 337.165 MU during the month. North India's largest floating solar project commissioned in Omkareshwar

The largest floating solar project in central and north India generating 90 MW energy has been commissioned at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh, a state minister has said. The Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project, costing Rs 646-crore, was commissioned on August 8, state Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla said in a statement. This project was developed under the Union Ministry of Renewable Energy and it is the biggest solar park in India and largest floating solar project in central and north India, he said. The project is executed by SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN, the minister said, adding that on the commissioning of the project, the total installed capacity of SJVN has increased to 2466.50 MW. The project is likely to generate 196.5 million units of electricity in the first year and 4,629.3 million units in the 25 years, he said. After commissioning, the project will reduce carbon emissions by 2.3 lakh tonnes and contribute significantly to
