CEOs see 3-year growth cheer for India Inc

MUMBAI: In what may be seen as a turning point in the collective sentiment of a large number of business leaders in India, a KPMG survey of CEOs has found the next three years to be "promising", both from the economic and organizational growth perspective. The report, which has been shared exclusively with TOI, highlights the views shared by around 125 CEOs from India, across sectors. The report envisages significant business transformation in the next few years that can potentially drive up bottom lines. The findings reveal an optimistic side of India Inc (see graphic), which has been reeling under growth pressures. According to KPMG, 94% of the CEOs surveyed are confident about India growing over the next 36 months, and almost 90% are confident about India growing over the next 12 months. 92% of the CEOs surveyed are confident about their company growing, both in short term and in midterm over next 3 years. In an interview with TOI, Richard Rekhy, CEO, KPMG in India, said, "Both, the Indian business community and the global business community are bullish on India as an investment destination. As compared to other countries, India faces relatively less number of issues and challenges. India is a largely untapped market and what is more exciting is a young population turning consumers." Get real: It's time for 'instappraisal'

In an age when most things are instantaneous, 365 days appear a pretty long wait. Keeping pace with technology and the "here-and- now" culture, employee feedback is going real-time. Organizations have begun encouraging managers and employees for regular feedback. Such conversations between employees and line managers are now becoming shorter but more frequent during the year. KPMG, for instance, ran a campaign asking employees to have a regular conversation with their managers to capture what he/she thinks about their performance. Some companies are creating new systems to ensure the feedback process is followed in a transparent manner. RPG Enterprises, for instance, has introduced a tool called 'critical incident diary' to capture real-time feedback. BookMyShow, on the other hand, has a 'weekly wrap', where managers rate team members every Friday. Experts believe such new ideas have a lot to do with employees demanding instant and fair feedback for their performance. Shalini Pillay, partner and head (people, performance and culture) at KPMG in India, said, "We are encouraging real-time feedback through ongoing conversations. If a manager has worked on a project, he wants to get a feedback so that he can take corrective action." KPMG is telling its employees it's their right to get the feedback and they should ask for it. RPG Life Sciences announces foray into cosmetology

MUMBAI: Harsh Goenka owned RPG Life Sciences has entered a technical collaboration with Italian cosmetic leader Labo Cosprophar. The company is in-licensing two research-based products to be launched in the Indian cosmetic market this July, said the statement. A separate division has been created to market these unique products titled Crescina and Fillerina, specializing in hair-fall control and anti-aging, respectively. Crescina is a research-based global product designed for hair-regrowth with nine patents worldwide. It is a blend of specialized actives which work to activate hair follicle stem cells that results in development of new hair and essential peptides and hydrolyzed ingredients provide strength to hair. This dual action makes the product unique and result-oriented. Fillerina is another breakthrough product designed for anti-aging treatment with Swiss patent. Fillerina is the first dermo-cosmetic filler for external use. Fillerina is a mix of filler gel and nourishing cream which, when combined, results in uplifting aged skin and provides a remarkable outcome within two weeks. We recognize the need for research-based result-oriented treatments in hair-loss and anti-ageing segments in India. Labo has a Switzerland-based research center and the experience of developing a wide range of patented products in hair, skin and body care. Their products have presence in over 33 countries including Europe, UK, US and Asia. Raychem RPG opens up opportunities for staff with Talent First

MUMBAI: After 16 years in HR roles across organisations, Ratish Jha, head of human resources at Raychem RPG, moved to a business role this April, as the profit centre head for transformer division at the same company. His current role, he says, is giving him all the opportunities to strike the right balance between the IQ (analytical side of the business) and EQ (human side of employees). "Moving from HR to business, I bring different perspective, new ideas and a different approach to reach a solution," says Jha. "As HR head, I have developed good understanding of business while I was involved with the top management in strategy formulation.
