In November, the Nifty 50 breached the 20,000 mark and delivered a 5.5% return for the month. November’s festive season with Diwali and other major festivals, gave the Indian economy a major boost.

In September, the Nifty 50 and Nifty 500 indices rose by 2% and 2.2%, respectively, on the back of cooling inflation and an upbeat earnings outlook. However, a surge in oil prices due to ongoing OPEC+ production cuts halted the market rally temporarily that month.

In August, the benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Nifty 500 had dropped by 2.5% and 0.8% respectively due to weak global environment, which especially affected large-cap stocks. Investor sentiment took an additional hit with Fitch’s downgrade of US long term debt and weak economic data from Europe and China.
