The demerger of the Hotels business from ITC, the talks of which have made the rounds for quite some time now, has received in-principle approval with the scheme promising to be beneficial for all stakeholders. ITC Ltd. will benefit from an improvement in return ratios, the Hotels Company will benefit from a pure play focus on the business, and the shareholders from value-unlocking benefits.
