Markets turn volatile, Quess promoter buys shares
Nifty 50 closed lower today ahead of PM Modi's national address, ending at 10302.10 (-10.3, -0.1%) , BSE Sensex closed at 34915.80 (-45.7, -0.1%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 8474.80 (-13.3, -0.2%)

Market breadth is in the red. Of the 1638 stocks traded today, 636 were on the uptick, and 966 were down.



Quess Corp Promoter Ajit Isaac acquires 300,000 shares of the company in an SAST transaction.


Phoenix Mills noted that the demand in its largest reopened malls is highest in electronics, where consumption is at 80-240% of levels last year in Bangalore and Lucknow malls. Footwear and accessories are seeing the lowest levels of demand in comparison to last June.

Raymond's share price falls after a weak Q4 result where the company has declared a net loss of Rs 58 crore in Q4FY20.


Petronet LNG has declared 125% dividend to shareholders this financial year. The company said it has invoked the force majeure clause this year in eight cases - in the case of Qatar Gas and one in case of Exxon Mobil. Qatar Gas has objected to the force majeure, and the company has been in negotiation with them. Petronet LNG says the contract covers the legality of invoking force majeure in the event of a pandemic.

Markets opened higher today. Nifty 50 was trading at 10392.85 (80.5, 0.8%) , BSE Sensex was trading at 35169.02 (207.5, 0.6%) while the broader Nifty 500 was trading at 8554.50 (66.5, 0.8%). Market breadth is overwhelmingly positive. Of the 1517 stocks traded today, 1087 showed gains, and 383 showed losses.
