We recently met the management of Som Distilleries (SDL) to understand the Indian alcobev sector dynamics and SDL's positioning in the same. SDL, established in 1993, is one of the prominent players engaged in production of beer, IMFL. With an installed capacity of 59200 kilolitre (kl) of beer and 5400 kl in Madhya Pradesh (MP), SDL commands 36%, 19% market share (state-wise) in beer, IMFL, respectively.
