Vedanta Resources secures $600 mn loan to refinance private credit facility

London-based Vedanta Resources Limited (VRL), the parent firm of Mumbai-listed mining conglomerate Vedanta Ltd, has secured a term loan facility of up to USD 600 million that will be used to refinance a high-cost private credit facility, according to a communication sent to bondholders. The first tranche of USD 380 million has been committed, with the remaining USD 220 million expected to be finalised shortly with other participating banks. Lenders for the USD 380 million facility comprise a consortium of Gulf, Japanese, and European banks, including First Abu Dhabi Bank, Mashreq, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, and Standard Chartered. "The facility carries a door-to-door tenor of over four years, with an average maturity of approximately three years and a pricing of SOFR (Secured Overnight Financing Rate) plus 450 basis points. Tata Power-DDL, in collaboration with Japan-based Nissin Electric Co Ltd, has commissioned India's first micro substation with power voltage transformer (PVT) that will provide low-cost and reliable power supply to consumers. Micro substation with PVT can convert high-voltage power directly from transmission lines to low voltage power, suitable for residential consumers, a statement said. Tata Power-DDL, a leading power utility serves around 9 million consumers in North Delhi. Delhi Police busts aviation fuel smuggling racket, 6 held in 1.62 cr scam

The Delhi Police on Monday claimed to have busted a racket siphoning off aviation turbine fuel from tankers meant for the international airport here and selling those in the open market as mineral turpentine oil, causing monthly loss of over Rs 1.62 crore to the national exchequer. The illegal operation running for over three years was uncovered following a tip-off received on Sunday, and led to the arrest of six people and detention of two others. The racket is said to be causing a loss of over Rs 1.62 crore to the exchequer every month, with an estimated 5,000 litres of fuel being stolen daily. "The ATF was originally dispatched from HPCL's Asoda Depot in Bahadurgarh for delivery to IGI Airport. However, tanker drivers, in connivance with the transporter and godown owner, manipulated GPS tracking data and diverted the tankers to a concealed location in Mundka," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Aditya Gautam said. NTPC board seeks shareholders nod to raise up to 18,000 cr via bonds

Power giant NTPC will seek shareholders' nod to raise up to Rs 18,000 crore through the issuance of NCDs or bonds on private placement in the domestic market. State-owned NTPC on Monday issued a notice of postal ballot to seek approval of the members by way of special resolution through remote e-voting regarding raising of funds through the issue of secured/ unsecured, redeemable, taxable/tax-free, cumulative/non-cumulative, non-convertible debentures (bonds/NCDs), amounting up to Rs 18,000 crore, according to a regulatory filing. The fund will be raised in one or more tranches/series not exceeding 12, through private placement in the domestic market during the period commencing from the date of passing of the special resolution till completion of one year thereof.
