NHRC notice to Health Ministry, FSSAI on 'widespread reuse of cooking oil

The NHRC has issued a notice to the Union Health Ministry and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) over a complaint raising concerns on alleged "widespread reuse of cooking oil" in the country. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) directed a probe into the allegations and the furnishing of a state-wise report according to the proceedings of the case. It asked to submit an action taken report within two weeks. The allegations made in the complaint prima facie seem to be "violations" of the human rights of the victims, reads the proceedings, dated October 22. The complainant, founder of Sarthak Samudayik Vikas Evam Jan Kalyan Sanstha, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, has raised "serious concerns about the widespread reuse of cooking oil in India". He pointed out that despite FSSAI's 'RUCO -- Repurpose Used Cooking Oil' campaign and policies promoting bio-diesel at the ground level, small hotels, roadside eateries and food vendors allegedly "repeatedly reuse or resell us

Punjab FC announces 26-member reserve squad for Punjab State League matches

Indian Super League franchise Punjab FC on Tuesday announced a 26-member reserve squad, including nine U19 players, for the upcoming State Super Football League. Runners up at the last season, Punjab FC will open their campaign against Dalbir FA in New Chandigarh on Saturday. Coached by Praveen Kumar, Punjab FC have 16 players from Punjab and the coach has also named six players on standby. Manav Singh, who was named in the senior squad for the Durand Cup 2025, has also been included. AltF Coworking starts 2 centres with 1,600 office desks in Noida, Gurugram

AltF Coworking has started two new centres with a total capacity of nearly 1,600 desks in Noida and Gurugram as part of its expansion plan amid rising demand for flexible workspace from corporates. The company has signed up 1.5 lakh square feet area in a office building at Sector 142, Noida, having a total capacity of around 3,000 desks. It has already made operational 970 seats from the beginning of this month and will open the rest in the coming months. AltF Coworking has also started a new centre on Golf Course Road in Gurugram, comprising 600 seats and 25,380 square feet area. The company provides managed office space, mainly to startups and SMEs.
