    Payments up to 25,000 crore pending: Basmati exporters amid Iran war

    The ongoing conflict in West Asia has severely disrupted India's premium basmati rice exports, causing significant losses to traders and threatening the livelihoods of farmers.According to a Bhopal-based businessman, consignments of Premium 1121 Basmati rice are currently stuck at ports, with payments worth Rs 2,000 crore to Rs 25,000 crore pending.A businessman from Bhopal speaking to ANI said, "...The Premium 1121 Basmati rice, which we used to export, is currently being held at the ports. If this situation continues, Indian traders will face significant losses. Our payments, ranging from Rs 2,000 crores to Rs 25,000 crores, are pending and have not been received, causing difficulties for the traders.     NavIC setback may limit India's security use of navigation system: Experts

    With India's navigation satellite system - Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) - not fully functional, one of the biggest concerns is that the country will be unable to use it for security and strategic purposes, experts say. The major setback occurred after the last atomic clock on board the Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System-1F (IRNSS-1F) stopped functioning on March 10, leaving only three satellites of the constellation capable of providing position, navigation, and timing (PNT) services. At least four satellites with operational atomic clocks are required for the navigation satellite system to function properly. Ananya Ray, a former scientist with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), told PTI in an interview, "Systems like NavIC have two signals: an open signal for common people and a restricted military signal that increases accuracy roughly tenfold."     Military plane with 125 aboard crashes in Colombia, several feared dead

    A military transport plane with 125 people on board crashed shortly after taking off Monday in southwestern Colombia, causing an undetermined number of casualties, officials in the South American country said. At least 48 people were rescued alive. Defence Minister Pedro Sanchez said on X that the plane was carrying troops when the "tragic accident" occurred in Puerto Leguizamo, a remote municipality in the Amazonian province of Putumayo, which borders Peru and Ecuador. Images shared online by Colombian media outlets showed a black cloud of smoke rising from a field where the plane crashed, and a truck with soldiers rushing to the site. Carlos Fernando Silva, the commander of Colombia's Air Force, later issued a video saying that 125 people were on board the Hercules C-130 plane, including 114 passengers and 11 crew members.     Qatar confirms 6 killed in helicopter crash in Persian Gulf, 1 missing

    Qatar said on Sunday six people have been confirmed killed in a Qatari helicopter crash in the Persian Gulf nation's territorial water. The Interior Ministry said one person is still missing from from the crash, which took place the day before. The Defence Ministry blamed "technical malfunction" for the helicopter crash.
