Essar Energy Transition's EET Fuels on Monday said it has appointed Prashant Janaswamy as its Chief Information Officer. Prashant will lead the development and implementation of EET Fuels' digital transformation strategy, with an aim to modernise the company's technology infrastructure and enhance data-driven decision-making, a company statement said. According to the statement, Essar Energy Transition's EET Fuels (the trading name of Essar Oil (UK)) announced the appointment of Janaswamy as Chief Information Officer. His expertise includes digital transformation, technology modernisation, and data-driven decision-making. He brings over 25 years of global experience across the UK, the US, India, and the Middle East, having held senior roles such as CIO, CTO, and Chief Data and Automation Officer at leading companies in the energy, oil and gas, and manufacturing sectors. EET Fuels secures $350 million funding for decarbonisation plans

EET Fuel, the trading name of Essar Oil (UK) Ltd, on Tuesday announced securing USD 350 million finance as investors reposed confidence in its decarbonisation strategy and market positioning. The firm secured USD 350 million through a combination of new financing by African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and upsizing extension of existing crude facility, it said in a statement. EET Fuels, which owns and operates the UK's Stanlow refinery, is investing USD 1.2 billion over the next five years to decarbonise its operations and targeting a 95 per cent cut in emissions by 2030 through energy efficiency, carbon capture and fuel switching. The new facilities secured are USD 150 million from Afreximbank - the Pan-African multilateral financial institution mandated to finance and promote intra-and extra-African trade - and upsizing of the previously reported USD 300 million trade credit financing facility with an international oil company to USD 500 million. Essar Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Ltd (EOGEPL), India's leading pioneering unconventional hydrocarbon player, on Thursday announced its collaboration with Sensia for the digitalisation of oil and gas field operations to enhance operational efficiencies. "This strategic partnership aims to unify measurement systems, optimise decision-making and enable remote control of critical parameters across EOGEPL's wells, facilities and customer interface," it said in a statement. EOGEPL, which produces gas from coal seams (called coal-bed methane), will deploy Sensia's Avalon digital platform interface. Essar to invest Rs 2,000 cr in Bengal's Raniganj brownfield CBM project

Essar Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Ltd (EOGEPL) will invest another Rs 2,000 crore in the next 18 to 24 months in its coal bed methane project in West Bengal's Raniganj, an official said. The company earlier had already invested Rs 5,000 crore in the Raniganj block in drilling 350 wells and producing nearly 0.9 million metric standard cubic metres (mmscd) of gas per day. Chief executive officer (CEO) of EOGEPL, Pankaj Kalra, told PTI that another investment of Rs 2,000 crore will be made for drilling 200 more wells in the next 18 to 24 months. "We are employing the latest technology in the existing wells to ramp up production from 0.9 mmscd to 1.3 mmscd which will be completed in a few months ", Kalra said. Total CBM production from Ranigunj will touch around three mmscd when the additional wells become operational, Kalra added. He said the company is currently contributing nearly 65 per cent to the country's total CBM production, which is likely to go up to 90 per cen
