    Tata Power-DDL, Nissin Electric to install India's first micro substation

    Tata Power-DDL, in collaboration with Japan-based Nissin Electric Co Ltd, has commissioned India's first micro substation with power voltage transformer (PVT) that will provide low-cost and reliable power supply to consumers. Micro substation with PVT can convert high-voltage power directly from transmission lines to low voltage power, suitable for residential consumers, a statement said. Tata Power-DDL, a leading power utility serves around 9 million consumers in North Delhi. The project is a part of International Demonstration Project on Japan's Energy Efficiency Technologies, publicly solicited by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). To commence this project, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power -DDL) and Nissin Electric signed a project agreement on August 21, 2024. The introduction of micro substation with PVT technology is primarily aimed at low cost and reliable power supply to remote load centers with challenging terrains. It

    Reliance Infra arm JRTR pays Yes Bank 273 cr for debt settlement

    Reliance Infrastructure on Monday said its wholly-owned subsidiary JR Toll Road Private (JRTR) has paid the entire debt settlement amount of Rs 273 crore to Yes Bank Ltd (YBL). Reliance Infrastructure in a regulatory filing said the agreement has also resulted in full settlement/discharge of the company's obligation as a guarantor for the said loan on behalf of JRTR. YBL does not hold any shares in the Company and is neither a related party nor part of the promoter group, it added. " ...we hereby inform that JR Toll Road Private Limited (JRTR), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company has entered into an addendum to the settlement agreement today with Yes Bank Limited (YBL) for the entire outstanding debt obligation of Rs 273 crore (including interest) owed by JRTR to YBL, and has duly paid the entire settlement amount," Reliance Infrastructure said.

    Water and sewerage infra player EMS on Monday said it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) in two projects worth Rs 202.85 crore floated by the UP Jal Nigam (Urban). As of March 31, 2025, the Ghaziabad-based multi-disciplinary EPC company's total order book was at Rs 2,236.43 crore. In a release, EMS said it has emerged as L1 for a Rs 104.05 crore project under the Agra Water Supply Reorganisation Scheme (Trans Yamuna Zone I&II). As part of the project, the company will undertake surveying, soil investigation, engineering, design and supply of all materials, labour, T&P required for construction, completion, testing and commissioning of an intake well-cum-pump house and approach bridge and a water treatment plant in Agra. The estimated time of completion of this project is around 24 months. It has also received the L1 status for a Rs 98.8-crore project under the Nagar Nigam Ayodhya Sewerage Scheme on a turnkey basis.     NTPC board seeks shareholders nod to raise up to 18,000 cr via bonds

    Power giant NTPC will seek shareholders' nod to raise up to Rs 18,000 crore through the issuance of NCDs or bonds on private placement in the domestic market. State-owned NTPC on Monday issued a notice of postal ballot to seek approval of the members by way of special resolution through remote e-voting regarding raising of funds through the issue of secured/ unsecured, redeemable, taxable/tax-free, cumulative/non-cumulative, non-convertible debentures (bonds/NCDs), amounting up to Rs 18,000 crore, according to a regulatory filing. The fund will be raised in one or more tranches/series not exceeding 12, through private placement in the domestic market during the period commencing from the date of passing of the special resolution till completion of one year thereof.     Appellate tribunal NCLAT has quashed an NCLT order that denied permission to the lenders of debt-ridden Raigarh Champa Rail Infrastructure to start a fresh bidding process. The development has come as a relief to JSW Energy which had sought permission to participate in the insolvency resolution process of Raigarh Champa Rail Infrastructure Pvt Ltd (RCRIPL), an ancillary company of KSK Mahanadi. JSW Energy has already acquired KSK Mahanadi Power, a 3,600 MW thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh, for Rs 16,084 crore through the insolvency process, earlier in March this year.     NTPC begins commercial supply from 52 MW unit of Nokh solar project

    State-run power giant NTPC on Sunday said that the 245 MW power capacity at Plot-3 of Nokh solar PV in Rajasthan has become fully operational with the start of commercial electricity supply from the second and last part of 52 MW. The first part capacity of 193 MW started commercial operation on June 9, 2025, according to a regulatory filing. Consequent upon successful commissioning, the second and last part capacity of 52 MW out of 245 MW capacity at Plot-3 of NTPC's Nokh Solar PV Project (3x245MW), Rajasthan, is declared on Commercial Operation with effect from 00:00 hours of June 22, 2025, the filing stated. With this, the total standalone and group commercial capacity has now become 60,318 MW & 81,420 MW respectively, it stated.
