Hind Rectifiers to set up AI, Web3 arm with expansion of Nashik facility

Power and railway equipment producer Hind Rectifiers is expanding its manufacturing facilities in Nashik and has also decided to set up a subsidiary for developing high-tech products and solutions in AI, Web3 and others, according to a top official. Hind Rectifiers MD & CEO Suramya Nevatia said that the company actively progressing with our capacity expansion plans at the Sinnar and Satpur plants in Nashik along with focus on backward integration which will improve cost efficiency. The company board has also approved the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary focused on developing cutting-edge products and solutions in Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Web3, and various software, he said. Hind Rectifier has reported around six-fold jump in net profit to Rs 10 crore for the October-December quarter of 2024-25 driven by order flows and higher income. Total income jumped by 24 per cent to Rs 169.4 crore in the third quarter of FY25 compared to Rs 136.7 ..

Hindustan Media Ventures Q3 results: Net profit at Rs 18 cr, revenue up 8%

Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd (HMVL) on Monday reported a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 18 crore in the December quarter. The company had posted a loss after tax of Rs 0.82 crore in the October-December period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing by HMVL, the publisher of Hindi daily Hindustan. Its revenue from operations rose 8 per cent to Rs 197.47 crore in the third quarter. It stood at Rs 182.95 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. Total expenses of HMVL were Rs 201.68 crore, down 3.2 per cent in the December quarter. Its revenue from printing & publishing of newspapers & periodicals was Rs 179.72 crore. HMVL's revenue from Digital jumped four-fold to Rs 16.72 crore in the December quarter against Rs 4.18 crore in the corresponding quarter. Total income of HMVL, which includes other income, was Rs 221.39 crore, up 7.2 per cent. Shares of Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd settled at Rs 94.01 apiece, up 12.69 per cent from the previous close.

Coal India's output dips 0.8% in Jan, first monthly decline in FY25

Coal India Ltd (CIL) on Saturday reported its first monthly production de-growth with the miner's output reducing by 0.8 per cent year-on-year in January. The company produced 77.8 million tonnes (MT) of coal in January as compared to 78.4 MT in the year-ago month. Despite the January production decline, CIL's management remains optimistic about achieving strong growth in the February-March period of the current fiscal, an official said. In December 2024, Coal India's production increased by 5.25 per cent year-on-year. For the period from April 2024 to January 2025, CIL recorded a growth of 1.8 per cent with output reaching 621.1 MT, up from 610.3 MT in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. CIL's offtake in January stood at 68.6 MT, a 2.2 per cent increase, from 67.1 MT in the year-ago month.
