Scoda Tubes IPO gets subscribed twice the offer size on Day 1 of share sale

The initial public offer of stainless-steel tubes and pipes manufacturer Scoda Tubes got subscribed 2.06 times on the first day of share sale on Wednesday. The IPO received bids for 2,43,53,100 shares against 1,18,46,169 shares on offer, as per data available with the NSE. The portion for non-institutional investors received 2.86 times subscription while the category for Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) got subscribed 2.09 times. The quota for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) fetched 1.40 times subscription. Scoda Tubes on Tuesday raised Rs 66 crore from anchor investors. The Gujarat-based company's IPO is entirely a fresh issue of equity shares, aggregating up to Rs 220 crore with no offer for sale (OFS) component. The issue, with a price band of Rs 130-140 per share, will conclude on May 30. World champion D Gukesh's disappointing season continued on Tuesday with the teenager losing his second successive match in Norway Chess -- this time to countrymate Arjun Erigaisi and failing to open his account after two rounds of the prestigious tournament here. A day after he lost to Magnus Carlsen in a thriller, Gukesh found himself being troubled by Erigaisi early and committing mistakes as time ran out. Erigaisi finally defeated Gukesh in 62 moves, forcing his opponent to resign after giving him a check with his knight. Tata Steel advances green steelmaking plans through major crane project

Tata Steel UK has taken another major step in its journey to produce green steel, with a new contract awarded to JASO Industrial Cranes, a leading manufacturer of process cranes globally. As part of Tata Steel's 1.25 billion pound investment in sustainable steel production at Port Talbot in the UK, JASO will supply seven high-capacity process girder cranes to support the operation of the plant's Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) facility. When fully operational in 2028, Tata Steel's Electric Arc Furnace will be one of the largest in the world and reduce the site's carbon emissions by 90 per cent - equivalent to five million tonnes of CO2 a year.
