Tata SIA Airlines Limited (Vistara) entered into an ‘implementation agreement’ dated 29th Nov’22 with Tata Sons Private Limited (Tata Sons), Talace Private Limited (Talace) and Air India Limited (AI) in connection with the proposed merger of AI and Vistara.

The total number of passengers carried by domestic airlines increased 28.5% YoY in October 2022 to 114.1 lakh. Total departures by scheduled carriers were up 21.5% to 82,914 in the same period.

The average number of domestic daily fliers in Nov’22-TD increased to ~386k vs 368k
during Oct’22. Domestic PLFs have also improved from 78% in Aug’22 to 79% in Sep’22 to more than 82% in Oct’22 in line with seasonally strong demand in Q3.

The average number of daily fliers in Nov’22-TD stands at ~385k vs 368k for the month of Oct’22.

The total number of passengers carried by domestic airlines rose 46.5% YoY during September 2022 to 103.6 lakh. Total departures by scheduled carriers were up 32.6%.

Average number of daily fliers in Oct’22-TD stands at ~366k vs 345k for the month of Sep’22.

Since Q1FY23, Indian airlines have seen higher fares being offset by higher costs.

Based on available data up to Q4FY22, Indian carriers’ share of India international
passenger (PAX) market has increased from an average of 38% between FY18- F20 to ~49% in FY22.

The average number of daily fliers in Sep’22-TD stands at ~336k vs 326k in Aug’22.
