Agrochemicals company UPL announced Q1FY27 results Consolidated Financial Highlights: The Revenue from Operations for the Company was reported at Rs 10,181 crore in Q1FY27, representing a YoY increase of 10.47% from Rs 9,216 crore in Q1FY26 and a QoQ decrease of 44.47% from Rs 18,335 crore in Q4FY26. The Total Income for Q1FY27 stood at Rs 10,398 crore, a YoY growth of 11.10% compared to Rs 9,359 crore in Q1FY26, while declining by 43.83% QoQ from Rs 18,513 crore in Q4FY26. The Company reported a Loss before exceptional items and tax of Rs 100 crore in Q1FY27, showing a 44.75% reduction in loss YoY from Rs 181 crore in Q1FY26, but marking a turnaround from a profit of Rs 1,908 crore in Q4FY26. Loss for the period reached Rs 73 crore in Q1FY27, compared to a loss of Rs 176 crore in Q1FY26 and a profit of Rs 1,294 crore in Q4FY26. Net Profit attributable to the owners of the parent was reported at Rs 10 crore in Q1FY27, as against a loss of Rs 88 crore in Q1FY26. Total Comprehensive Loss for the period stood at Rs 80 crore in Q1FY27, compared to a profit of Rs 258 crore in Q1FY26 and Rs 3,005 crore in Q4FY26. The Basic Earnings Per Share (EPS) for Q1FY27 was reported at Rs 0.12, as against a negative EPS of Rs 1.94 in Q1FY26 and Rs 12.57 in Q4FY26. Standalone Financial Highlights: The Revenue from Operations for Q1FY27 was Rs 1,397 crore, marking a YoY decline of 15.84% from Rs 1,660 crore in Q1FY26, but a QoQ increase of 17.79% from Rs 1,186 crore in Q4FY26. Total Income reached Rs 1,520 crore in Q1FY27, representing a YoY decrease of 13.34% from Rs 1,754 crore in Q1FY26 and a QoQ decline of 5.18% against Rs 1,603 crore in Q4FY26. Profit before tax stood at Rs 120 crore in Q1FY27, showing a YoY decrease of 9.09% from Rs 132 crore in Q1FY26 and a QoQ decline of 74.19% from Rs 465 crore in Q4FY26. Net Profit for Q1FY27 was Rs 89 crore, reflecting a YoY decrease of 27.05% from Rs 122 crore in Q1FY26 and a QoQ decline of 75.21% compared to Rs 359 crore in Q4FY26. The Standalone EPS for Q1FY27 was Rs 1.05, compared to Rs 1.53 in Q1FY26 and Rs 4.25 in Q4FY26. Business Highlights: Segment-wise Performance: Crop Protection: This segment generated revenue of Rs 7,659 crore in Q1FY27, compared to Rs 7,246 crore in Q1FY26. Seeds & Post Harvest: Reported revenue of Rs 1,750 crore in Q1FY27 against Rs 1,405 crore in Q1FY26. Non-agro: Revenue for this segment was Rs 848 crore in Q1FY27, up from Rs 639 crore in Q1FY26. Insurance Claim Settlement: During Q1FY27, the Hon'ble Bombay High Court upheld an arbitral award in favor of the Company regarding a long-outstanding disputed insurance claim. Consequently, the Company recognized Rs 55 crore under Other Income, comprising the principal claim, interest, and legal costs. Corporate Restructuring: The Board approved a Composite Scheme of Arrangement involving the amalgamation of UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions Limited ("UPL SAS") into UPL Limited, and the demerger of the India Crop Protection business into UPL Global Sustainable Agri Solutions Limited ("UPL Global"). Exceptional Items: The Group recorded a net exceptional loss of Rs 9 crore in Q1FY27, primarily related to restructuring costs including severance and impairment. Exchange Differences: Finance costs for Q1FY27 included a net exchange loss of Rs 93 crore arising from foreign currency loans and derivative contracts.
