Questions swirl around Infosys acquisition

Havells India is buying a unit of Lloyd Electric and Engineering, which sells air conditioners and televisions in a 15.5 billion-rupee deal ($231.14 million). The deal is expected to close in eight weeks, and will according to the company help Havells expand its reach into the $15 billion consumer durables market in India.

An anonymous email from an Infosys employee has raised new questions around the governance process followed by Infosys during the acquisition of an israeli company, and former CFO Rajiv Bansal's misgivings on the acquisition. The email alleges conflicts of interest between CEO Sikka and the people involved in the acquisition, which included SIkka's former colleague at SAP, Hasso Plattner, who owned 6% of the acquisition target.

Stock in spotlight: Tata Teleservices, which is seeing high volumes in stock markets today on news that the company is in talks to join the RCom-MTS-Aircel combine.
