LIVE: Markets close higher, Rahul Bajaj steps down as Bajaj Fin Chairman
DCM Shriram fell 1% today post results announcement for the June quarter.


Markets closed up today. Nifty 50 closed at 11173.10 (150.9, 1.4%) , BSE Sensex closed at 37930.33 (511.3, 1.4%) while the broader Nifty 500 closed at 9078.10 (93, 1.0%). Market breadth is in the green. Of the 1668 stocks traded today, 857 were gainers and 746 were losers.


Rahul Bajaj will be stepping down as Bajaj Finance Chairman. His son Sanjiv Bajaj who is currently the vice-chairman will be taking over his role.


JK Cement, Rallis India, Dr. Lal Pathlabs among stocks hitting fresh 52 week highs today.


Granules India is a BUY from BP Wealth, with the analysts citing strong traction in formulations and operational efficiencies. 


ACC Ltd is among the top gainers today after announcing Q2 results. Analysts at Jeffries and CLSA raised the stock's target price, with Jefferies upping the target from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 1,700. 


The market opened on an upbeat note. Nifty 50 was trading at 11153.45 (131.3, 1.2%) , BSE Sensex was trading at 37896.43 (477.4, 1.3%) while the broader Nifty 500 was trading at 9080.60 (95.5, 1.1%). Market breadth is ticking up strongly. Of the 1486 stocks traded today, 1078 showed gains, and 323 showed losses.
