DVM for shortlisting Midcap and Smallcap stocks

The challenge of investing in midcaps and smallcaps has provided investors both with significant upsides and downsides. There's nothing like seeing a less talked about stock surge, delivering big returns. And yet, a shift in the market tends to affect small and midcaps disproportionately, especially when capital gets pulled out, or when election-anxiety surges.

The midcap index is close to a two year low, and for savvy investors this can provide users with buying opportunities. Uncertainty in markets tends to weigh disproportionately on mid/smallcap stocks, in some cases, significantly improving valuations that have now fallen to 5-6 PE for multiple mid and smallcap companies.

The DVM Screener for mid/smallcap companies (subscription screener, but screenshot above) helps identify such firms that have a strong financial track record and technical momentum. Keep an eye on their current versus long term PE to assess them effectively.
