Markets edge lower on protectionist remarks from the US

US President Trump said yesterday that he would like to either terminate or re-negotiate a deal with South Korea, while he refused to rule out a confrontation with North Korea, saying that a "major conflict" was possible but he would prefer a diplomatic solution. His remarks on the two Koreas drove markets down, as investors and traders read these statements as a move towards greater protectionism on the part of the United States. Trump however has had a record of remarks that he later reverses after diplomatic meetings and conferences with advisors. 

Educational content publisher S Chand and Company's IPO was completely subscribed as of day 2 of the share issue, and as of 5pm, the share sale was subscribed 1.96 times. Institutional and retail investors led the bidding for the IPO. The portion reserved for retail investors was subscribed 2.24 times, while the qualified institutional investors’ category was subscribed 2.68 times.

Stock in spotlight: Ultratech Cement, which delivered Q4 results above analyst expectations in the post-demonetization Q4. Motilal Oswal issued a buy report on the stock on April 25.
