NTPC Green Energy's Rs 10,000 cr IPO likely in November first week

NTPC Green Energy, a subsidiary of state-owned power giant NTPC, is likely to bring its initial public offering (IPO) to raise Rs 10,000 crore in first week of November, a source said. Last week, NTPC Green Energy had filed preliminary papers with capital markets regulator Sebi to raise Rs 10,000 crore through IPO. The highly placed source said the IPO is expected to be launched in first week of November this year. The company has planned roadshows in India (Mumbai) as well as abroad, especially in Singapore, the source informed. The initial share-sale is entirely a fresh issuance of equity shares with no offer-for-sale (OFS) component, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). The company said proceeds of the issue to the tune of Rs 7,500 crore will be used to repay or prepay part or all of its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd's (NREL) outstanding loans, while a portion will be utilised for general corporate purposes. Reliance-bp team up with ONGC as OALP-IX bid round attracts four bidders

India's biggest oil and gas bid round attracted four bidders that included state-owned ONGC and OIL and private sector Vedanta Ltd, with most blocks getting just two bids, according to Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH). The OALP-IX bid round, where 28 blocks or areas spread over 1.36 lakh square kilometre were offered for finding and producing oil and gas, for the first time saw Reliance Industries Ltd-bp plc combine bidding together with ONGC for one block in Gujarat offshore. Reliance and its supermajor partner bp plc had bid in just two of the past eight oil and gas bid rounds since 2017. Reliance-bp combine had bid and won the two blocks they had bid for in the previous rounds and this is the first time they have teamed up with ONGC to bid for a shallow water block in the Gujarat-Saurashtra basin. NCLAT directs distribution of ITNL entity's lenders, to pay 75% to BKEL

The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has ordered an interim payment of 75 per cent of the total amount deposited in an escrow account to lenders of Baleshwar Kharagpur Expressway Limited (BKEL), promoted by IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd (ITNL). Passing an order over the plea filed by the State Bank of India, NCLAT said it failed to see any reasonable grounds for not taking any decision by the Board for an interim distribution, as per the Concession Agreement and the Escrow Agreement. "Interim distribution shall be made to the lenders of 75 per cent of the amount lying in the escrow account as per the Escrow Agreement," said NCLAT in its order. The balance amount is to be used for operations, maintenance and other payments. However, it added: "Lenders shall also give an undertaking for a refund of the amount received, in the event ultimately, it is found that they were not entitled to the extent of the amount received by them."
