Cloudextel secures 200 cr debt to boost AI-ready digital infrastructure

Digital infrastructure provider CloudExtel on Thursday said it has raised Rs 200 crore in debt from a leading private sector bank to accelerate the development of AI-ready digital infrastructure and expand its metro fibre network across India. The Mumbai-headquartered company did not disclose the name of the lender. The capital infusion is complemented by a proportional follow-on equity investment from CloudExtel's existing shareholders to support its expansion plans, according to a company statement. The debt will be used to fund CloudExtel's upcoming Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) network initiative, aimed at providing high-capacity, low-latency, and redundant connectivity between data centrescritical infrastructure for AI workloads, cloud computing, and digital content delivery. The network will debut in Mumbai, followed by expansion to major metro cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Pune. We are targeting more than Rs 1,300-crore turnover in FY24: DCI CEO

Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (DCI) is targeting a 12 per cent growth to hit the turnover of more than Rs 1,300 crore in the ongoing financial year, MD & CEO S Divakar said. To achieve the goal, the company is looking to participate in new dredging tenders and also planning to enter new markets, Divakar told PTI. "Our turnover was at Rs 1,164 crore in FY22-23. It is the highest ever turnover since inception of the company. Going forward, we are now targeting the new milestone of over Rs 1,300 crore in the ongoing financial year," he said. When asked about the factors that would contribute to the company's growth, the CEO said the scope of dredging activity in the country is expected to grow significantly in the months to come as government's focus is on deepening and widening navigational channels of major ports, and developing the inland waterways for improving the intra & inter EXIM trade. PM Modi to visit Tripura on Sunday, inaugurate its first dental college

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Tripura's first Dental College here on Sunday, Chief Minister Manik Saha said. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has given permission to establish a Dental College in IGM hospital's new building on Thursday based on the recommendations of Dental Council of India (DCI), Saha said at a press conference here on Thursday night. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tripura on Sunday to address a rally, inaugurate some projects and interact with the beneficiaries of the welfare schemes of the Central and state. During the visit the PM will also inaugurate the Dental College", the chief minister said. Saha said a DCI team visited the proposed building for the Dental College on December 12 and 13 and inspected the facilities. "They were impressed with the infrastructure at the proposed building and the proposal of setting up a Dental College was approved by the Executive Council of DCI on Thursday (December 15)", he said. Indian envoy meets Kenyan President Ruto over abduction of 2 Indians

India on Monday described as "very disturbing" the circumstances surrounding the abduction of two Indians in Kenya and subsequent lack of information in the case. Indian High Commissioner to Kenya, Namgya Khampa, met Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto and requested him for expediting the investigation into the matter, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said. A close aide of the Kenyan President last week claimed the two missing Indians, Mohammad Zaid Sami Kidwai and Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan, have been killed by the disbanded DCI (Directorate of Criminal Investigations) unit, according to a media report. It is learnt that the Kenyan government has not said anything officially on the report. Kidwai and Khan, who were part of the Kenya Kwanza digital campaign team, went missing alongside taxi driver Nicodemus Mwania from Mombasa Road in July.
