Vedanta Resources secures $600 mn loan to refinance private credit facility

London-based Vedanta Resources Limited (VRL), the parent firm of Mumbai-listed mining conglomerate Vedanta Ltd, has secured a term loan facility of up to USD 600 million that will be used to refinance a high-cost private credit facility, according to a communication sent to bondholders. The first tranche of USD 380 million has been committed, with the remaining USD 220 million expected to be finalised shortly with other participating banks. Lenders for the USD 380 million facility comprise a consortium of Gulf, Japanese, and European banks, including First Abu Dhabi Bank, Mashreq, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, and Standard Chartered. "The facility carries a door-to-door tenor of over four years, with an average maturity of approximately three years and a pricing of SOFR (Secured Overnight Financing Rate) plus 450 basis points. India-US deal to produce F-414 jet engines likely by March: HAL Chief Sunil

The Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) will seal a deal with US defence major GE Aerospace by March to jointly produce a jet engine to power the next generation of India's combat aircraft, the aviation behemoth's chief DK Sunil has said. The mega plan to jointly produce the F-414 engines in India was announced during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Washington DC in 2023, though the programme suffered from several slippages because of protracted negotiations on the sharing of advanced technologies. In an exclusive interview with PTI Videos, HAL Chairman and Managing Director Sunil said crucial negotiations with GE Aerospace on the transfer of technologies for the engines were concluded and both sides are now focusing on the commercial aspects of the project. UP govt to equip 235K buildings with rooftop rainwater harvesting system

The Uttar Pradesh government is undertaking an extensive campaign to promote rainwater harvesting, aiming to strengthen water conservation and address groundwater depletion, a statement issued here said on Tuesday. According to the statement, it aims to equip 2.35 lakh government and semi-government buildings across the state with rooftop rainwater harvesting system for the campaign. "Around 34,000 public buildings already have these systems installed and plans are on to extend this to over one lakh additional structures in the coming months," the statement added. "This initiative is a significant move toward recharging groundwater levels and conserving water for future generations," it said.
