    Powergrid acquires Bidar Transco for Rs 6.52 cr under tariff-based bidding

    Power Grid Corporation of India (Powergrid) on Tuesday said it was acquiring Bidar Transco Ltd (BTL) after being selected as a successful bidder under a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB). REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), and arm of REC Ltd, acted as the bid coordinator, Powergrid said in an exchange filing. On the objectives behind the acquisition, it said BTL is engaged in the same business as that of Powergrid. BTL has been acquired for an aggregate value of about Rs 6.52 crore, including 50,000 equity shares at par at Rs 10 each, along with assets and liabilities of BTL as on the acquisition date (18.02.2025). However, the acquisition price is subject to adjustment as per the audited accounts of BTL as on the acquisition date.

    NTPC pays additional Rs 2,424 cr interim dividend to shareholders for FY25

    State-owned NTPC on Tuesday said it has paid an additional Rs 2,424 crore of interim dividend to its shareholders in the financial year ending March 2025. This is in addition to the first interim dividend of Rs 2,424 crore paid in November 2024, NTPC said in a statement. The Rs 2,424 crore dividend paid on February 18 is 25 per cent of the paid-up equity share capital of the company. The total dividend paid by the company during the ongoing fiscal has reached Rs 8,000 crore, which includes the final dividend of Rs 3,152 crore for the financial year 2023-24 paid in September 2024. This is the 32nd consecutive year that NTPC has paid dividend. Under the Ministry of Power, NTPC is India's largest integrated power utility, contributing one-fourth of the country's power requirements. The company has an installed capacity of over 77 GW, with an additional capacity of 29.5 GW under construction, including 9.6 GW of renewable energy capacity.     Reliance Infra to enter RE manufacturing space with solar, battery plants

    Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) is entering into the renewable energy (RE) equipment manufacturing space to increase its business portfolio, industry sources said. The Reliance Group company has already appointed Ivan Saha as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Renewable Manufacturing, and Mushtaque Hussain as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Battery Manufacturing, they said. "RInfra is making strategic entry into the renewable energy manufacturing industry," sources said. The company would set up an integrated solar manufacturing unit with the objective to boost the production of solar panels and components in India, promoting self-sufficiency in clean energy. Solar manufacturing will be led by Saha, who comes with over 30 years of experience in semiconductors and solar technology and device design.
