Amber Enterprise to invest Rs 6k cr in electronics plant near Noida airport

Amber Enterprises has planned an investment of Rs 6,000 crore to set up a large-scale electronics manufacturing facility near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, according to a state minister. Uttar Pradesh's Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta on Thursday said he held a meeting with Amber Enterprises promoter Jasbir Singh in Lucknow a day ago. The company plans to establish units for PCB assembly, home appliances, and consumer electronics production as part of this investment, an official statement quoted the minister as saying. "This Rs 6,000 crore investment will open new avenues of growth and prosperity in the state," Gupta said, terming it a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh's industrial transformation. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has already issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) for 100 acres of land in Sector 8, Noida for the proposed facility. AC industry to adopt temperature norms at no extra cost, seeks six months

The air-conditioning industry will comply with the new temperature standardisation announced by the government within a couple of months, including resetting its inventory, without passing any additional costs to consumers. Leading room-air conditioner (RAC) makers such as Voltas, LG Electronics, Blue Star and Haier have welcomed the move and said the move will not only help the industry to grow sustainably by saving energy, but also optimise energy consumption, reduce grid load in peak summers and also extend the lifespan of the units. On Tuesday, Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the government is working on a framework to standardise the default temperatures of air conditioners, including those in automobiles, in the range of 20 to 28 degrees Celsius. The industry will have to go for some minor modifications in the designs and settings of the remote control and its firmware (software embedded into hardware devices) for its implementation and needs up to six months for its .

Good potential to increase export of leather shoes from India: Bata

Footwear maker Bata sees good potential to boost its exports from India, a top company official said on Monday. "We mainly export leather shoes from India...it's in millions...scope and potential is there (to increase that)," Bata Brands SA CEO Sandeep Kataria said, adding that India will be "our second largest" hub for sourcing. Bata has its main design centre in Italy and over 15 factories across the globe. The company has a design centre in Gurugram (Haryana) in India also and it, along with the Italian team, can design products for emerging markets, he said. On the quality control order for the footwear sector in India, he said it is a good move as it will help set up a quality benchmark. "It can help keep out poor quality (goods)," he added.
