    Business Standard
Global travel tech platform OYO expects to register over 60 per cent year-on-year growth in revenue for the fourth quarter ending March at Rs 2,100 crore, Founder Ritesh Agarwal told the senior leadership on Monday. The OYO Founder and CEO informed the company's top leadership that the sharp jump in Q4 revenue highlights the company's ability to drive sustainable, profitable growth. "We are on track to register over 60 per cent year-on-year revenue growth in Q4 FY25, reaching over Rs 2,100 crore. A key contributor to this performance has been the successful integration of G6 Hospitality, adding Rs 275 crore to our revenue," Agarwal said in the email sent to OYO's senior leadership, seen by PTI. Even without G6, its revenue stands strong at Rs 1,886 crore, demonstrating robust organic growth of 42 per cent, Agarwal said. G6 Hospitality, acquired by OYO from Blackstone in 2024, is a

Israel anticipates more Indian tourists amid possible easing tensions
    Business Standard
As gunfire echoed and smoke filled the air, a steadfast stream of pilgrims from Kerala made its way to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Israel. Undeterred by the region's unrest, these devotees undertook a journey to the Holy Sepulchre, which houses Christ's tomb, driven by faith. For centuries, Christians worldwide have flocked to this revered site, and for Keralites, especially Christian faithfuls, its appeal remains strong. The data from the Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) reveals that 9,600 Indian tourists visited Israel in 2024, with 50 per cent of them travelling for pilgrimage--most of them from Kerala. According to an IMOT spokesperson, in the current scenario, Israel expects more pilgrim tourists from Kerala. "We are expecting around 70,000 tourists travelling to Israel from India this year, and of this, 48 per cent are pilgrims," Amruta Bangera, Director of Marketing, IMOT-India told PTI. All the tourist attractions are completely safe, and the safety of tourists i

Par panel proposes inter-ministerial task force for women's tourism safety
    Business Standard
A parliamentary panel has recommended establishing an 'Inter-Ministerial Women's Tourism Safety Task Force' to develop comprehensive safety protocols, monitoring mechanisms and emergency response systems specifically designed for women tourists. In its report presented in Parliament on Tuesday, the committee has acknowledged that environmental sustainability must transition from an "auxiliary consideration to a core principle" in tourism development, and to institutionalise this approach, it has recommended developing the 'National Sustainable Tourism Certification System' with clearly defined parameters for ecological impact, resource efficiency, and community engagement. The report -- 'Demands for Grants (2025-26) of Ministry of Tourism' -- is by the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture. In the report, the Committee says that it views with "grave concern" the reduction in allocations and negative recoveries recorded under the 'Safe
