BJD's probable Nuapada bypoll candidate Jay Dholakia switches to BJP
    Business Standard
The BJD's prospective candidate for the Nuapada assembly bypoll, Jay Dholakia, on Saturday joined the ruling BJP in Odisha, in a major setback for the Naveen Patnaik-led party. He is the son of Rajendra Dholakia, the BJD MLA whose death necessitated the by-election in the seat. He joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy CM KV Singh Deo and state BJP president Manmohan Samal at the party's main office in Bhubaneswar. Welcoming him to the party, the CM said, "Jay will complete his father's incomplete works in Nuapada. He decided to join the BJP after witnessing the development works happening in the state." Jay was tipped to be the BJD's candidate for the bypoll, scheduled on November 11. However, his name was not officially announced by the opposition party.

India must stop allowing others to define its identity, says Adani
    Business Standard
"If we do not narrate who we are, others will rewrite who we were," Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said on Friday, calling for India to take charge of its global narrative through cinema, storytelling, and emerging technologies. Speaking at Whistling Woods International, Adani emphasised that India must stop allowing foreign voices to define its identity. "Silence is not humility, it is surrender," he said, pointing to films like Gandhi and Slumdog Millionaire as examples of how India's stories have often been told through Western lenses. He argued that India's failure to own its story has allowed others to profit off caricatures of its reality, and said the country must stop allowing others to define its identity. He also warned of the double-edged power of storytelling in an era where narratives "move markets faster than numbers". Referring to the 2023 Hindenburg report that temporarily wiped over USD 100 billion off Adani Group's market value, he said the episode was a stark .

Yamuna cleaning to be completed before next Lok Sabha polls: Amit Shah
    Business Standard
Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled projects worth Rs 1,816 crore on Thursday to rejuvenate the Yamuna, and said the path to cleaning the river had become clearer under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at the event, Shah hit out at the AAP and Congress governments, and accused them of indulging in corruption and not taking steps to clean the river. The resolve to clean the Yamuna is not a political one but to honour its revered status among people, he stressed. "Today's programme has a different significance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that cleaning the Yamuna will be the topmost priority and will be completed before the next Lok Sabha polls. Even the AAP-da government that was in power had also talked about rejuvenating the river. They had said that they would take a dip in the river. "They did not do it but Parvesh Verma ensured that their cutout was made to take a dip. The cutout became ill and had to be admitted to Safdarjung Hospital," he
