HFCL, ITI roll out India-made network routers for BharatNet project

Domestic telecom gear maker HFCL has started first large scale deployment of indigenously designed and manufactured network routers in collaboration with state-run ITI for BharatNet project, the company said. India's network router market is currently dominated by US companies after Chinese gears were restricted by the government under telecom security rules. "In a groundbreaking development at Rouri Gram Panchayat in Solan district, Himachal Pradesh, HFCL's domestically designed and manufactured IP/MPLS routers have been successfully deployed by ITI Limited, enabling Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) connectivity to rural subscribers. DCCDL Q3 rent income up 18% on high demand for office, retail spaces

Realty major DLF and GIC joint venture DCCDL's rental income rose 18 per cent to Rs 1,412 crore in the December quarter amid strong demand for premium office and retail spaces. DLF Cyber City Developers Ltd (DCCDL) rental income stood at Rs 1,193 crore in the year-ago period, according to DLF's latest investors presentation. DLF holds nearly 67 per cent stake in DCCDL while Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC has the remaining equity shareholding. At present, DCCDL has a total operational portfolio of 44.3 million square feet area, comprising prime office and retail spaces. Around 4 million square feet is retail area and the rest is office spaces. On financial performance front, DCCDL's net profit before exceptional item rose 40 per cent to Rs 717 crore during the third quarter of this fiscal from Rs 514 crore in the year-ago period. Nalco eyes 200-300 MW green power with battery storage for clean aluminium

Business Standard

State-owned Nalco is transitioning its power-intensive smelting operations to renewable energy sources, and plans to set up 200-300 MW of green power capacity backed by battery storage to ensure a reliable supply and significantly cut overall carbon emissions. Nalco, which currently relies 100 per cent on coal-based captive power plants that account for 80 per cent of its carbon emissions, plans to ramp up its efforts to produce green aluminium, its Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Brijendra Pratap Singh said. The smelting process, which constitutes 35-40 per cent of production costs, draws power from in-house coal plants at Rs 3-3.5 per unit, while green power rates hover at Rs 4.5-5 per unit, he said. In a bid to address this, National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) is pursuing power purchase agreements (PPAs), developing its own green power plants, and appointing a consultant to devise strategies for securing green energy at minimal cost with round-the-clock availability, he .

Vedanta's iron ore mining arm, Sesa Goa, has urged the government to provide incentives for low-grade iron ore beneficiation, emphasising that targeted policy support and infrastructure investment are critical to make the processing economically viable and to expand the sector. The low-grade iron ore beneficiation process enhances the iron content of low-quality ores by removing impurities like silica, alumina, and phosphorus, thereby making them suitable for steel production. With India's steel demand projected to reach 300 million tonnes by 2030, unlocking low-grade reserves through beneficiation could boost domestic supply security, create jobs, and add billions to government revenues via expanded mining and exports. Currently, higher-grade ore meets domestic needs, but low-grade stockpiles offer untapped potential, provided policy hurdles like duties and regulatory delays are eased. "India sits on massive low-grade iron ore inventory estimated at over 300 million tonnes at min
