Upcoming Vizag international airport to house largest MRO: GMR founder

The upcoming Bhogapuram international airport near here will house the world's largest Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) unit, said GMR Group founder and chairman G M Rao here on Friday. The GMR Group is developing the project. Addressing the 30th edition of the two-day CII Partnership Summit 2025 here, Rao said the airport will be ready by June 2026, six months ahead of schedule. "In line with the vision of the honourable chief minister (Chandrababu Naidu), we are also developing an integrated aerospace ecosystem on 500 acres of land. This park will attract global aerospace and defence manufacturers and house the world's largest MRO and create a complete aerospace ecosystem," he said. He further said the upcoming airport will also attract OEMs, Research and Development units, training and suppliers, besides others which would empower the region's youth and create job opportunities for them. Patel Engineering Q2 results: Profit dips 12% to 64.7 cr, income rises 3%

Patel Engineering on Thursday reported an 11.73 per cent fall in consolidated net profit to Rs 64.7 crore for the September quarter, and a fundraising plan of Rs 500 crore. It had clocked a net profit of Rs 73.3 crore in the July-September period of FY25, the company said in an exchange filing. The company, however, increased its income to Rs 1,271.6 crore in the second quarter, from Rs 1,230.9 crore in the year-ago period. For April-September FY26, the company saw its net profit grow by around 20 per cent to Rs 144.7 crore, from Rs 121.1 crore in the six-month period of the previous fiscal. The board has also approved a rights issue of equity shares to raise Rs 500 crore. During the second quarter, Patel Engineering received a Rs 240 crore order from state-owned NHPC for civil and hydro-mechanical works at the Teesta-V project in Sikkim, bringing the total new orders received in H1 FY26 to Rs 2,500 crore. Interarch Building Q2 results: Profit rises 56% to 32 cr, revenue up 51%

Interarch Building Solutions Ltd on Friday reported a 56.11 per cent rise in profit to Rs 32.27 crore for the September quarter. The company had posted a profit of Rs 20.67 crore in the year-ago period. The total income of the company rose to Rs 497.09 crore over Rs 328.23 crore in the year-ago period. "This quarter has been transformational for Interarch as we continue to expand and strengthen our manufacturing footprint across India. The commissioning of Phase II at our Andhra Pradesh facility marks another key milestone, making it our fourth fully integrated PEB plant and taking our total installed capacity to 2,00,000 MT," the company's Managing Director Arvind Nanda said. Welspun Enterprises bags 3,145 crore order for Panjrapur water plant

Welspun Enterprises Ltd (WEL) on Friday said it has secured a new order worth Rs 3,145 crore to design, build and operate 910 MLD water treatment plant at Panjrapur, Maharashtra. Welspun Enterprises in a statement said the plant will significantly strengthen Mumbai's water supply network by leveraging advanced technologies to ensure efficient and sustainable operations. WEL said it has partnered with Veolia, a global leader in water management technologies, as its technology provider for this project. "The project valued at Rs 3,145 crore includes comprehensive civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works, along with the construction of a treated water sump and pumping station," it said. According to the statement, the total contract value includes an operation and maintenance component of Rs 1,156 crore and excludes a provisional sum of Rs 29 crore.
