    Organisations representing survivors of the Bhopal gas tragedy on Tuesday took out a protest march to mark the 40th anniversary of one the biggest industrial disasters in the world and demanded an end to the "injustice" faced by them. The rally participants, carrying an effigy of "corporate crime" at the now defunct Union Carbide factory site, denounced various regional, national and international leaders and relief organisations for their continued involvement in the "denial" of justice and a life of dignity to survivors of the catastrophe. A large number of women and men, holding placards, marched towards the abandoned factory site while raising the slogan "Bhopal Ka Insaaf Karo". On the intervening night of December 2-3, 1984, the highly toxic gas methyl isocyanate (MIC) leaked from Union Carbide's pesticide plant, killing 5,479 persons and maiming more than five lakh others.     Coal India's total production up by 2% to 471 million tonnes in Apr-Nov

    State-owned CIL's coal production rose by 2.4 per cent to 471 million tonnes (MT) in the April-November period of the current financial year. Coal India Ltd (CIL) produced 460 MT of coal in the year-ago period. CIL accounts for over 80 per cent of the domestic coal production. The company's production also rose by 1.7 per cent to 67.2 MT in November against 66 MT in the corresponding month a year ago, CIL said in a regulatory filing to BSE. Coal offtake by CIL, which is the amount of dry fuel supplied from coal pitheads, rose by 1.5 per cent to 492.6 MT in the April-November period of the current fiscal, compared to 485.2 MT in the year-ago period. The company's coal offtake in November was almost flat at 63 MT, over 62.9 MT in the corresponding month of the previous fiscal, the filing said. Coal India Ltd said it produced 773.6 million tonnes of coal in 2023-24 but fell short of its production target of 780 MT for the fiscal. Its production was 703.2 MT in the preceding 2022-23

    DRA Homes targets Rs 1,000 cr revenue; signs Rashmika as brand ambassador

    Real estate developer DRA Homes has set an ambitious target of generating Rs 1,000 crore in revenue by the financial year 2026-27, the company said on Sunday. DRA Homes plans to expand into the Pune market as part of its three-year growth strategy while strengthening its presence in Bengaluru. The company has also roped in popular actor Rashmika Mandanna as its national brand ambassador to fuel its growth plans. DRA Homes reported revenues of Rs 300 crore in FY2023-24 and is projected to achieve Rs 500 crore in FY2024-25. DRA unveiled its strategic growth plan to achieve Rs 1,000 crore in revenue by FY2026-27. On track to achieve Rs 500 crore in revenue for FY2024-25, the company plans to drive its growth over the next three years by entering the Pune market and expanding its presence in Bengaluru by the next financial year, according to a statement released on Sunday.
