Himachal govt slams Nadda, says claims over medical park funds 'misleading'
    Business Standard
The Congress government in Himachal Pradesh lashed out at Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Sunday over his claim about the non-utilisation of Central funds for building a medical device park in the state, terming it an attempt at "misleading" people. Earlier in the day, Nadda, who also the BJP's national president, chastised Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu dispensation in the state as the "most corrupt" and claimed that it had returned to the Centre a sum of Rs 25 crore allocated for the construction of a medical device park. Also, the state government failed to utilise Rs 225 crore released till 2023 out of the Rs 1,000 crore allocated to the state for a bulk drug park, he has alleged. Reacting to the accusations, Himachal Pradesh Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, in a joint press conference, underlined that the Congress government has decided to execute the project independently. Top Indian IT firms post weak Q4 results amid tariff, trade worries
    Business Standard
India's top-rung IT services companies TCS, Infosys and Wipro disappointed with their March quarter and full year FY25 scorecards on multiple counts and collectively signalled heightened caution up ahead, as macro uncertainties compounded by global trade woes eroded sentiments and weighed on business outlook. The overhang of macro concerns reflected on several fronts, from muted outlook to hesitation to commit upfront on wage hikes, as management commentary from India's billion-dollar IT powerhouses remained largely sobering in the just-ended quarter. Hiring trends fared a tad better. TCS, Infosys, and Wipro cumulatively added 1,438 employees between Q3 and Q4 FY25, marking a shift, and indeed a reversal, from declines of over 900 seen in the previous quarter. With US tariff posturing swiftly resetting global trade dynamics, the tone of business commentary in Q4 was punctuated with references to underlying uncertainties and caution. "The global industry environment remained uncerta

Pick of Portfolio for April 20
    Business Line
With Foreign Portfolio Investors engaging in bouts of buying, Indian indices recouped almost all of their losses since Trump's tariff announcements last week. However, the tariff pause may be temporary, worries about the US-China trade wars remain and the final picture on tariffs for Indian exports may only emerge when the India-US bilateral trade talks are concluded. The positive part though is that lows at 21700-21800 on the Nifty seems to be holding up well. All eyes may now be on the earnings season which has made an indifferent start with the IT majors.

Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla set for space travel next month: Jitendra Singh
    Business Standard
Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla is set to travel to the International Space Station next month as part of an Axiom-4 mission, four decades after Rakesh Sharma's iconic spaceflight onboard Russia's Soyuz spacecraft, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Friday. Singh made the remarks after reviewing the work of the Department of Space and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) here. "Group Captain Shukla's journey is more than just a flight it's a signal that India is stepping boldly into a new era of space exploration," Singh said. ISRO Chairman V Narayanan made a presentation on various upcoming space missions. ISRO is set to launch the NISAR satellite developed jointly with NASA in June on board the GSLV-Mark 2 rocket, Singh said, adding that in July the space agency will put in orbit BlueBird Block-2 satellites of US-based AST SpaceMobile Inc. using the heavy-lift LVM-3 rocket. Singh said Group Captain Shukla's mission, scheduled for May, marks a milestone in India
