    Search operation to track terrorists enters fourth day in J&K's Kathua
    Business Standard
    A massive multi-tier combing operation to track down a group of infiltrating terrorists continued for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday in forested areas of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. A local woman informed the police on Tuesday that two men in army uniform asked her for water while they were having food in the Ding Amb belt of the district, prompting the area to be cordoned off. "They took water and headed towards the nearby forest area," Darshana Devi said. Security has been intensified along the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in the Samba-Kathua section, with increased vigilance on border roads, officials said. The search operation is concurrently underway in multiple areas from Sanyal to Ding Amb and beyond, covering several kilometers. The operation involving the army, NSG, BSF, police, Special Operation Group, and CRPF armed with technical and surveillance equipment, is supported by helicopter, UAVs, drones, bulletproof vehicles, and sniffer dogs.     Accident at bullet train site near Ahmedabad; several trains cancelled

    A segmental launching gantry used for construction at a bullet train project site near Ahmedabad accidentally skid from its position and affected the adjoining railway line, disrupting the movement of several trains, officials said on Monday. No casualty was reported in the incident, which took place around 11 pm on Sunday at Vatva near here, nor did it cause any damage to the erected structure, the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) said. The incident, however, affected rail traffic, leading to at least 25 trains being cancelled, while 15 others were partially cancelled, five rescheduled and six were diverted, an official from the Ahmedabad railway division said. Efforts were on to clear the railway line so as to facilitate the movement of trains on the affected line, railway officials said. A NHSRCL official said efforts were underway for restoration with the help of heavy duty road cranes. Several trains were either fully or partially terminated, and some rescheduled

    Construction of largest Namo Bharat station likely to finish by April

    The largest Namo Bharat station in the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, Sarai Kale Khan, is likely to be completed by the end of April. According to an official statement, with key construction and electrification works nearing completion, trial runs on the stretch between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan are expected to begin by the end of this month. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) stated that track work between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan stations has been completed. Sarai Kale Khan will serve as a major transport hub, connecting the Namo Bharat corridor with Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Delhi Metro's Pink Line, the Veer Haqeeqat Rai Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and Ring Road, it stated. To enhance interconnectivity, a 280-meter-long foot overbridge (FOB) is being built to link the Namo Bharat station with Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, it mentioned.
