    Accel Atoms 4.0 to invest up to $1 mn in startups focused on 'Bharat', AI

    Global venture capital firm Accel on Wednesday announced the launch of Accel Atoms 4.0, the fourth edition of its pre-seed scaling programme, Accel Atoms, that offers chosen startups up to USD 1 million funding along with perks of over USD 5 million from Accel network partners. Accel Atoms 4.0 builds on the success of three previous editions, and is designed to make the journey as frictionless as possible for visionary founders and promising entrepreneurs operating in the two distinct cohorts of AI and Bharat, the VC firm said in a release. Accel Atoms 4.0 is inviting applications from two categories of pre-seed startups - those building for Bharat', and AI (Artificial Intelligence), it said. Applications for the programme open on September 16. Accel defines Bharat' as the middle-income households spread across Tier 2, Tier 3, and rural India. Startups at the pre-seed stage, including idea-stage and pre-product companies, are eligible to apply for this rigorous three-month hybrid .

    T-Hub selects 23 startups for 1st cohort of AIC T-Hub Lab2Market programme

    Startup incubator T-Hub on Monday announced the launch of AIC T-Hub Lab2Market program, which aims to transform groundbreaking research into market-ready innovations. Of 200 applicants, 23 startups have been chosen for the first cohort of the programme, according to a release. The programme offers a pathway for researchers and innovators to translate their ideas into commercial successes by focusing on two key objectives, that of developing Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and converting them into scalable startups. "Startups participating in the Lab2Market program will receive comprehensive, tailored support.     McDonald's India to offer burgers with bun co-created with CSIR-CFTRI

    McDonald's India, which operates a QSR chain in West and South through its franchise Westlife Foodworld, would offer burgers with multi-millet bun, which has been co-created with premier food technology research institute CSIR-CFTRI. The company has partnered with CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), functioning under Ministry of Science & Technology, for this multi-millet bun and it will source millets directly from farmers. This is the first-ever collaboration in the QSR (quick service restaurant) space, which combines CSIR-CFTRI's expertise with McDonald's thrust for developing nutritious food options. "The purpose is to improve the nutritional quality of our food, so that the customer in the long run benefits from it.     Govt launches Rs 750 cr fund AgriSure for support to agriculture startups

    Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday launched a Rs 750-crore fund 'AgriSure' to provide financial support to agritech startups even as he underlined the need for increasing public as well as private investments in the farm sector. The Union Cabinet on Monday approved seven schemes for the agriculture sector with an outlay of nearly Rs 14,000 crore. The minister was speaking after launching an integrated Agri Investment Portal named KrishiNivesh and 'AgriSure' fund at an event held here. The Rs 750-crore 'AgriSure' (Agri Fund for Startups & Rural Enterprises) will support startups and 'agripreneurs' by providing both equity and debt capital. Chouhan asked startups to utilise this fund and assured that there would be no fund constraints for agritech startups, which he said are playing an important role in the agriculture sector.
